Re: Friday
Leaving High Point Thursday night, stopping in Clover, SC. Then heading out around 8:00 Friday morning. Want to make sure I'm there in time to pick up tickets in the afternoon, hit the Street Fest/Pep Rally/Christmas Parade/Mountaineer Talk and maybe even Dreamland's BBQ for dinner.

Re: Friday
Part of me wants to bring my smoker and cook some wings... Probably just bring the tailgate grill and cook brats and hamburgers or something.

Re: Friday
Shhh! My wife thinks that cooking on the smoker is hard and time consuming work! If I cooked them on the grill it will blow my cover!!

I lived in Birmingham for 10 years. Dreamland Ribs are the best! They followed me here to Atlanta and opened about 2 miles from where I first lived. I'll still take NC BBQ, but the ribs at Dreamland are great.

Leaving home Thursday afternoon, spending the night in Greenville SC, and then heading down Friday morning. We plan to hit Dreamland for lunch, then pick up tickets, check into the hotel and see what happens after that...

Re: Friday
Trying to get on the road from Raleigh around 9. If I get to town in time for Mountaineer Talk I might go to that. Otherwise I'll find some dinner and hit Aviator once I'm checked into my hotel. Traveling solo so I'm definitely planning to make some new App friends this weekend.

Re: Friday
9:45a flight out of RDU Friday. 12:05p flight out of the ATL and gaining 7 minutes with an 11:58a arrival in Montgomery. The only plans we have for Friday, at the moment, are to pick up tickets at the Renaissance and check-in to the Hampton Inn. Dreamland seems a good option for dinner, otherwise open to whatever seems cool and fun and offers access to beer.

Re: Friday
OK, so here's the message board no no and a double post - my apologies.
We know from App State Sports the "official" App State gathering place is the Aviator Bar right across Commerce St from the "official" App State hotel, the Renaissance. Between the Aviator Bar and the Hampton Inn is a promising dive bar called the AlleyBAR. Around the corner from the Aviator on Tallapoosa is Dreamland BBQ.
I also see Wintzell's Oyster House across Commerce from the Hampton. Bit further down Tallapoosa from Dreamland is the Railyard Brewing Co, which looks very promising for the brew pub crowd.
It may not have the stale beer vomit stench, and gutter 3 toothed Cajun stripper appeal of Bourbon St, but Montgomery is looking to have plenty of good options to produce a well earned headache Saturday morning.
