Wilmington Star News Blows it again

Well, we finally got some good ink in the Wilmington paper but it was spoiled by a gross mistake.

John Zenor in an Associated Press Article says App was "snubbed" last year.

Ohio and Appalachian State made sure they didn't get snubbed when this season's bowl bids went out.

The two teams ride three-game winning streaks into Saturday's Camellia Bowl a year after both teams were postseason eligible but didn't receive invitations.

Oh well, I guess any ink out in Eastern NC is a good thing.

After what some of the other members have said of Charlotte Observer coverage I think we should give them a bit of a pass haha. At least they are providing some coverage of our matchup. Being that far away from campus I can see where they may not have been informed of the fact we were ineligible last season.

I've seen that on a number of outlets. It's just a copy and paste AP article where the reporter was too lazy to do his homework.
Charlotte paper talked about Cure Bowl ahead of our bowl. I guess it's all those GA State grads in and around Charlotte. Their college football was headlined by a positive article about how UNCC had 18 starters returning. One would think that's the worst thing they could have coming back

Makes me wonder that with all of the controversy about letting 5-7 teams into bowls this year if the NCAA would have given transitional teams who had 6+ wins to their names first dibs on bowls if there were any in that position.

Nothing to wonder about it. Transitional 6+ win teams are placed before a 5 win team. If things had of played out last year like this year, then we would have been in a bowl game under provisional status.
