That is great for us going forward. Bowls want to know we can draw a crowd in the stands and on the tube.

Last year's FCS national championship game only drew 1.4 million. Further proof that even the "minor" bowl games draw more viewers than the biggest game in the FCS subdivision.

I think this provides us insight as to the national brand we have, which was built upon the Michigan win. Folks across the country have an interest in how the "giant killers" are doing. I know a lot of us are tired of the Michigan win continually coming up, but imop, it is still paying dividends. Now if we can just translate this interest into revenue for the program and university...

Some of this is scheduling. I know some Wyoming fans are following us. Some Tennessee and Miami fans watched to see what they are up against next year.

This just proves the theory that CUSA used to pick their teams was based on false metrics. We have a national name and a state wide appeal. I have a lot of State and Carolina buddies and a large majority of them watched the game. They are nervously paying attention to our rise and what will inevitably be their competition in recruiting. We are a FOOTBALL school. They are not and have never been.

Agree. I got texts from UNC, WF, NW, and NCSU grads during the game. I had not talked to them before the game and had no idea they were watching. But, by far, the best texts were from an Ohio U grad. Lots of chest thumping early, than not so much.

Me too. I had friends who like UNC, WF, NCSU, ECU and even Ohio U send me text messages and messages on FB. Other than the two from Ohio U, all were pulling for App State. If we keep getting better, which we will, we will get better recruits and those friends of mine will be getting a little scared of App State....

My niece, a wcu grad, said she watched the game and even pulled for APP to win. I've many other people who aren't APP fans say how exciting and fun the game was.

I did something similar. When I set my out of office notification on my work email and sent the notice out that I would be on vacation, I included the fact I would be at the game and what time and what channel everyone could find the game if they needed me. I'm surprised at how many people have told me that they watched the game.

Not one word from my Ohio relatives (wife's family). With that said, I hope Ohio State gets their butts handed to them!!!

I posted something similar to this in another thread.
That UNC/Duke basketball game was the highest rated regular season game of the year.
