New Years Bowl Games

Unread post by WVAPPeer » Sat Jan 02, 2016 8:20 am

First, I have always wanted some type of playoffs and the 4 team is great for now (compared to how the champion was crowned over the last 50+ years) - BUT are you guys finding the other "big" bowl games have lost a good deal of luster? - I barely watched any of yesterday's games and in the past it was the greatest college football day of the year - I understand realistically you can't have both - a playoff and other bowl games really meaning something ---
Also, a thought from me personally - after APP won their bowl game, every other game became less meaningful ---
Any Thoughts ???

I've found lately that I'm losing interest in anything that's not App related, so I can't say that it's related to the playoffs. I did watch the Go Daddy and the Clemson/OK game with interest but that's it so far. Generally speaking, if my Apps aren't playing then I just don't care.

So many of the "big" games were blowouts that I stopped watching.

Games were surprisingly non competitive. We watched The Birds. Panthers and App otherwise I'm not watching too many sports.

I don't like how there are other bowl games after the playoffs have already begun. Having "meaningless" bowl games after the playoffs have started just makes them more meaningless. Everyone is waiting for the national championship game at this point.

Looks like many others share your feelings.

This is probably the most bizarre and uneventful bowl season I've seen in my 29 years of life. Many blow outs, and not so great match ups. Like others have said though, I starting to only care about App State

Warm weather = outdoor activities

Cold weather = indoor activities (TV viewership & baby boom)!

One of the more disappointing NYD slate ever due to lack of competitiveness.
But I'm making up for it by chuckling at the irony of where the teams in the Motel 6 Bowl
are staying.

More than one person has told me that the Camellia Bowl has been the best one they have watched this Bowl season.
