Nice. Looking for big things from him this year.

For what it is worth- App, Tennessee and Miami QB's all rated in the top 20. Taylor kind of reinforces my questioning of the star rating thing. Kind of doubt he was a 4 or 5.

I am not surprised. New team in a conference that doesn't get much love. He also isn't flashy he is just pretty consistent. After this rating he will be getting a lot more attention from media but more importantly from opposing coaches.

He led us to a "second" place finish in the SunBelt and a victory in the Camellia Bowl (the first ever for a first year move up from FCS to FBS). That seems better than some nebulous star rating in my humble opinion. ;)

I'm very interested in the progression of Lamb. Some discounted how well he played last year.

Saying that, we've typically seen quite a bit of improvement in our QBs between their sophomore and junior years. Will we see that again this year or has Lamb already made the "big" jump we've seen with other QBs in the past. I say this due to the fact that he is a coaches son and the light may have come on earlier for him than others.

My prediction is we won't be that much better passing from him, but we may see his running capabilities increase, an area of his game that is underrated.

I wonder if TL were about 2" taller would he have had a higher rating and P5 offers? I am personally okay with bringing solid 3 star guys. We seem to be doing something right in Boone.

Wow. isn't that the truth - one of the most confusing/troubling lines of thought ever!!! - I believe there was more than one poster who suggested he wouldn't even be the starter next season ---

I think that might largely depend on how the new players around him develop. He should have better athletes at WR that could result in more consistent ability to stretch the field, but they're unproven. And of course we have to be able to protect him.

As far as his personal development, the biggest area for improvement I see (not that I'm a QB coach) is avoiding the killer mistake when he's pressured. It seemed like he usually made good decisions, but when he made a bad one, it was often disastrous.

If he's healthy, he will most definitely be the starting QB. Fingers crossed.

I completely agree about the mistakes that he makes just happen to be a little more detrimental than the run of the mill turnover. That said he makes very few of those mistakes, so when he does it just stands out more. I personally hope he gets a little more confidence in himself and his abilities so that he can recover quicker from those mistakes.

All in all TL is the perfect QB for us, a very cerebral player with extremely under rated tools. He can make all the throws, he can thread the pocket, and he can burn a defense with his legs when called upon. I have high hopes that the influx of speed on the outside will open up more of playbook. Our play action game could be explosive next year if all plays out right. Combine TL with that stable of backs and some outside playmakers and it is the recipe for record breaking offensive numbers.

Careful, that borders on criticism. You will be called down for such comments.

Don't know about that. I think there were a few that said there would be a competition for the starting job next year. Now with recent developments, not so much.

With or without recent developments it was a ridiculous thing to say in the first place. Lamb is the starter until he graduates.

Yeah TL definitely needs a lot of improvement. His numbers and the team's record last year were terrible. There should be an open QB competition in camp this year. Maybe TL could switch to another position.

Okay enough of that crap. The kid can play, he moves the offense, is only going to get better and will undoubtedly leave the mountain with his share of school records.
