No rules change, but stronger enforcement of the 3 yard rule for down field linemen on passing plays.

Fans of SEC teams (minus Auburn and Ole Miss) have been calling for this all season. There's been some serious non-enforcement of this rule the past couple of years.

Are there any egregious benders of this rule in the #FunBelt? I never really noticed it being a major issue in any of our games, but I can't say I watched the line play every down.

I actually think it's a good thing. Three yards downfield gives plenty of wiggle room to both players and officials. More than that and you may as well just drop the rule.

I just have a feeling we will get screwed on this call, during a critical part of a critical game.....So hard for officials to know exactly when the ball was released while watching the linemen down field.

They should make this a reviewable penalty. It wouldn't be hard to tell is the OL was downfield on instant replay.

The problem with making more calls reviewable is making the games longer.
