This is interesting blend of Club Seating and Luxury boxes. Looks like this is new trend at a number of schools with their renovations.

This would be awesome in place of our temporary seating and Owens Field house. A blend of Students in the low seats with these types of boxes above and club seating would be awesome. Then a new section of premium 50 yard line seats could be place in the current section 104 with students to either side. That should keep students amped up and allow for some high $$$ seats at the 50 yard line too.

Sign me up. Side note. My dad wanted me to ask the board when season tickets go on sale for new season ticket holders. I believe he means, when can he select his own seat, because right now it is showing he can purchase, but no option to select his seat. I think I heard end of April?

I like the way Arkansas horseshoed in their stadium. Something that would look nice at THE ROCK.

HECK NO! We have enough "high dollar" quiet hand sitters now in the best seats on the west side!

We have a GREAT situation in KBS where we have 8,000 standing students 100 yards long x 50' deep right on the field edge. That is a God given right of all App State students from before time.

How many other schools in college football have that? I honestly do not know...(besides GS, visitors side)

Plus I believe these are better served along the top just before the press box. Could push seating down, creating less available space for regular seating. Best bet IMO.

Don't mess with the student section for the sake of extra money. Our student section is loud, engaged, and dedicated. By taking away a huge chunk of the student section for premium seats, you would lose a lot of those dedicated fans and there would be less incentive for them to show up two hours before kickoff. The 50 yard line is prime real estate, yes, but it shouldn't be taken from the students.

Yeah. Keep the students where they are. They show up.

I have to agree. Until the students subsidize 0%, they stay right where several generations of Mountaineers stood before them.

Nice idea, but it looks more like an office setting than a sporting event to me. Not sure how much noise you would get from these sections but at least you would get more people to the game. Which translates to more money coming in.

Yeah, that's the idea. Luxury seating is never really about creating a rowdy atmosphere. All about revenue streams.

I understand completely about the revenue stream we currently can use all of that we can get.

Like the idea of being able to move about more freely, but I think we would be able to get more Club seats in the same area.

This concept probably does well with the wine and cheese crowd who will pay good $$$ for their space. Combine that with club seating and a great YOSEF Club room overlooking the field and BINGO$$$. When I was a student in the late 1980's the YOSEF room was in the upper floor of Owens and was a fun thing.

Field Level - Student seats and THE Band
2nd Tier - Club Seats with overhang from above
3rd Tier - Loge Boxes with roof cover

I was told by a friend of mine earlier that ECU will be announcing another 55 million dollar expansion to their stadium at their spring game. Expansion will change the face of the stadium with new suites. I'd like to know where this money is coming from, especially fresh off their other expansion. Possibly trying to line themselves up for a P5 conference?

Most G5's with aspirations of P5 are. Why would ECU be different?

Believe I was phrasing more of a rhetorical question there. I think it's common knowledge all larger G5s want to move up, no? I'm more interested in opening up discussion on funding for this project and how we need to announce something soon.

No offense meant here, but if you can't get an email response from your local APP Alum Chapter, you stand ZERO chance of funding this un-proposed project through this website. Still, I hope you prove me wrong!

No offense, but the only thing I received from my local chapter is an email stating their monthly meeting at 8:30 on a Wednesday. Feel free to enlighten me how that is productive for a working professional? You seem to have a lot of answers, so I'm curious. Perhaps you're one of the geniuses in charge of the piedmont chapter?
