Question for Season Ticket Holders

So we're finally joining the Yosef club and getting season tickets now that I'm done with school. My girlfriend and I are young (mid-late twenties). We're looking for seats in a section with a culture we're used to, one where the folks get up and make noise on defense and aren't afraid to stay standing if the occasion calls for it. I know the culture can vary wildly between sections.

What section are you in? Describe now rowdy it is.

Thanks!

How much do you plan to give to Yosef? I know that's a personal question, but it would help to give you a more accurate response. I will say that if you get to the $500 plus level, sections 111 and 110 are pretty good. 110 especially when away teams bring fans. Let me know where you end up sitting Gonzo. I've not purchased mine yet for this year, and would be happy to join you in the same section to make it rowdy even if it isn't.

Well my girlfriend went to grad school at App, so we're still eligible for the young alumni program. We'll see what we can swing when I call the office. I'd like to land in an already rowdy section if at all possible. Hopefully this thread gets more responses so I can make an educated decision.

Do people stand up and make noise on defense in that section?

I'm in 213 and I like it. I picked it primarily for the view of the field, but everyone within the 2 rows I'm in is pretty rowdy and into the game. I think every section is going to have some variation of people that fall anywhere in the spectrum between "guy you worry is going to have a stroke he yells at the refs so much" and "girlfriend forced to come and is bored and spends the entire game on the phone."

Yes, real Appalachian Football fans in that section. Loud and pay attention to the game. Plus, it's right behind the visitors bench which adds another element of entertainment, depending on the opponent.

I suggest the 111 if you intend to be loud and actively involved in the game.

However, if you enter the 111 and are passive and quiet, you will be ejected.

Choose wisely.

Are you looking to yell APP or STATE?

Also Section 111 gets sun unlike West side seats. Very useful after the September games. But the September games can be pretty hot on the east side. Especially if you've been drinking

We also love it in section 111. Lots of Great App fans in 111. We get loud, and can get very loud when we need to and everyone around us is good to go. Some of the guys/gals are great at heckling the hell out of the other team's players too. The section straddles the 50 yard line and great view of the field, players on App's sideline, west side stands, & athletics center. Dang, ain't it time to go to Knoxville yet? Can't wait! "STATE!!!"

Culture???? You don't need no stinkin' culture.

Seriously though, my section (203) don't take too kindly to strangers standing or making a ruckus unnecessarily. We usually are sitting, BUT all are focused on the game -- at least most of the time -- between naps. Having said that, when the team needs a racket, we help supply it.

I recall about 5 years ago, a young fellow came up there & lit a cigarette (tobacco). He clearly did not have a ticket for those seats. I thought about 5 or 6 of us old farts were going to hurt ourselves trying to kick his a$$. He left before anyone had a stroke or got hurt.

Are young alum discounts available? I still think we need a young alum section. Probably one of the biggest missed opportunities by our marketing department, especially if they want to build a culture moving forward. Most other schools have it and offer young professional season tickets at a discounted rate

Thank you for your help to those who responded to my little crowd source.

We're now officially proud YOSEF CLUB members with season tickets in section 111!

section 111 recruiting has a signed a 2016 fan....he is a two star fan by most sites but we are raising his stars to 3 star because of his obvious fan intelligence and his effort in joining Yosef....we are exciting to have Gonzo join our team. He comes with academics, talent, and skills we feel can benefit THE 111 ..... Good luck to Gonzo. We hope he " gives his all for Appalachian State and THE 111
