I would say the line for App Tenn is respectful to us.

I'd say so too.

It's definitely respectful. We are catching the same number that Lafayette is catching at home against Boise.

We were a 17 point dog at Clemson last year, IIRC. Hope we show better this time.

Well we will not be playing them and besides they have aspirations of (hope you are sitting down) they think the SEC is going to come calling.............

Before seeing this, I was guessing the game would be a similar line as last season's Clemson at 17. Considering Clemson could have won the NC last seaon, we showed fairly well. APP should have a better team this year and UT will not be good as Clemson.

I would say it is not respectful to us, literally a 3 td dog. I don't like it but, not unfair until we prove otherwise.

Not looking to hijack the thread but did you see the schedule for Hawaii. They play in Sydney, Australia on the 26th of August and then travel to Ann Arbor 8 days later.

That's a "we'll do anything for money" kind of schedule.
And before our line improves we have to start playing respectably at P5 games. We haven't. In a long time.

Didn't we replace Hawaii on Michigan's schedule back a few years ago?

I don't care what our opening line is ........... I do , however, care immensely how we perform against Tennessee on September 3rd. The thing that really has me looking at this season optimistically is the fact that we have only been competing at this level for 2 seasons, have won 19 of our last 21 games, and are just now getting to actually fully implementing 85 schollies . We might have a long way to go but we have made up a lot of ground in a short period of time.

Last years OOC schedule was great for a first year G5 team. We played a P5 money game, a G5 in a similar transition, a G5 in a down period and an FCS opponent. This year OOC is tougher in that the FCS game has been replaced with another P5 and the down G5 replaced with an 8 win Akron. Great for the fans and the program to get Miami in Boone but we might enter conference play a little more beat up than last year.

One good thing about the schedule this year is having all OOC games in the beginning. That way the team can get the Tennessee and Miami games over with before we focus on claiming our first Sun Belt title (Game at GS will be a good one too). Since this thread is about betting odds, I am going to throw out my way too early prediction for our final record this coming season. 2-2 before we begin conference play. Tennessee will just be too good, and I think the new leadership for Miami will lead them to beat us. Tennessee game I can see being a blow out, Miami close and possibly decided by 10 points or less. Akron didn't impress me watching them last year, and drove 5 hours to the ODU game in the pouring rain to come to the conclusion... They aren't that good either. Final record 10-2 assuming we stay healthy up until the GS game. 9-3 if we are dinged up, and giving GS the benefit of playing at home.
This will be a very fun year, which if marketed correctly, and results meet expectations could be the spark needed to get us back to the interest we had in the Camelot Era.

I agree with a 9-3 season. I think that's very attainable. With at good shot at another 10 win season and another bowl W.

I would be really pleased with a 9 w season especially considering we lost 6 starters to the NFL. Look forward to seeing what our young receivers can achieve this year and also believe Jaquil Capel will be a difference maker when he is on the field. He was really starting to turn it up when he got hurt.

We've been getting obliterated in these types of games since 2007 (albeit mostly FCS). If we lose by 3 td's or less, I'll be pleased. Tennessee is going to be strong this year. That QB will be tough to contain. And as always, our o-line will struggle in a game like this. Excited for the season though. 9-3 will be a successful one.
