Our opener at Tennessee has been moved to Thursday Sept 1st at 7:30 pm from numerous posts. It will be broadcast on the SEC Network.

Unfortunate.

This sucks. Only positive is it makes it a night game, but this will kill our attendance.

If this were any other game than the first game of the season I would care. This is awesome. Primetime, under the lights baby.

Was thinking about making the trip but now it is definitely out for us.

The positives with this Thursday night game is prime time TV coverage, it opens up the entire Labor Day weekend and gives the players a couple extra days to rest before ODU comes to town.

Wonder why the change. They have VTech the following Sat in Bristol, wouldn't think that was a factor.

Sorry for those of you who planned on making a weekend out of this and can't take a couple days off to get to Knoxville. This is the best scenario for App, however. Saturday's schedule is murderers row and we would have been stuck on ESPN3 while the heavyweights played throughout the day. I'm sure some of you will throw out quips about it being on SECNetwork but 66million households have SECN and our game will be 1 of 3 actually worth watching that night. Great for the Apps.

Another positive for the players and fans is that it shouldn't be brutally hot at 7:30p like a noon or 3:30 Saturday kickoff would be.

This is a positive for us. In many respects. I am taking the extra days off and making it a nice weekend. But the TV exposure on opening weekend, is amazing.

Hum, there is some good juju on a September 1 game date that comes to mind on the Big10 TV network. Could be that lightning strikes twice on that date? Maybe not but the final score could be better in our favor.

Two days closer to kick-off and less heat. Sounds good to me.
