They did go three and out on their first series, so I don't feel that was a big deal.

Yeah, I'm up for an argument. Learn how to spell D-E-F-E-R.
We kicked off when it was 0-0 with 60 minutes left to play. We received the second half kickoff down by three points. When I'm behind, I want the ball.

Had no problem with deferring the opening kick. App got to see what Wofford had early and forced a three and out on the first possession. Our subsequent turnover and butterfingers didn't do any favors in the first quarter.

Agreed. We did a lot of things wrong. Deferring was not one of them.RankinApp wrote:Had no problem with deferring the opening kick. Re: Way to differ the win
I always felt like deferring under AE was safe because even if the opposing team engineered an opening drive we could respond and that the 1st half would be a wash at worst.
Today, that was somewhat true in that we forced a 3 and out on their first possession.
However, to open the 2nd half we laid an egg.
We will not win or share a SOCON title, but could still be a force in the FCS playoffs.
