We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Re: 2015 G5 Attendance Numbers - App at #27
This will be our decade low point. We had some bad luck last year with dates and weather.
Top 10 this season perhaps?

Re: 2015 G5 Attendance Numbers - App at #27
yep, last year was a totally @##%up schedule, and throw in the bad weather, you can understand why we were 27th. Now with this years schedule, no excuses not to lead the SBC in attendance and top 15 in the G5. I'll say this, GS had a great schedule and still finished behind us, this year their home schedule really sucks, it wouldn't surprise me to see them dip into the teens.

Let's see. We should have about 80,000 for the Miami game. Just have to average 20K for the other 5 and we are about top 10.

Yep last year the deck was stacked against us. Attendance will be up considerably this year.

I expect > 30K for Miami. Not sure we approach that number in any other game unless we beat Miami and/or UT. Though I expect our policy of counting purchased but unused tickets will boost the announced numbers somewhat.

Do we not? Sorry if mistaken, I just thought that was acknowledged to be the case.Gonzo wrote:As much bologna today as it was the first time someone posted it.EastHallApp wrote: our policy of counting purchased but unused tickets.

If Ga State went by actual attendance and not tickets sold, they wouldn't have averaged more than 3,000.

No, you're 100% correct EastHall. We are no different than every other school (and professional team) in the country. Attendance numbers are concocted by the number of tickets purchased not the butts in the seats.EastHallApp wrote:Do we not? We were told by the ticket office last year that tickets scanned = announced attendance. You are both 100% incorrect.Yosef10 wrote:No, you're 100% correct EastHall. Do you have a source for your info? Do you mean they said that publicly? Is there a link to that effect? Not saying you're wrong, just don't remember it and would be interested to read it.Gonzo wrote:We were told by the ticket office last year that tickets scanned = announced attendance. I remember this being a point of contention in the past on the MMB and it was cleared up to the extent of my reply (sorry for the Scrubs video). I don't recall the form of the clarification and no I don't have a link.

My source was being in the stands for Howard which was announced at 24,314 then simply looking around the stadium and the place wasn't remotely close to being full. It's really not a big deal, like I said every school and pro team does it. If you could find a link/email/announcement I maybe would buy it (still a hard sell) but you can easily look at the stadium and tell there's a discrepancy between the actual number and the reported number. Hopefully this year will change all that.

They announced that they were scanning tickets to determine attendance at a couple games last year that had promotions. I don't remember any other confirmation that attendance equals tickets scanned.

let's be honest. You can take attendance figures anywhere with a grain of salt and yes Howard is a good example of that. They are just another fun thing to talk about.

Re: 2015 G5 Attendance Numbers - App at #27
I thought they were only scanning tickets to see who actually was coming to the games. I have always thought announced attendance was tickets sold/competed.
