One of the worst performances I've seen in awhile.
One of the worst performances I've seen in awhile.
We only scored 2 offensive TDs.
Defense can't stop a triple option.
Flipping in endzone gave them the ball at the 50 and a score.
Receivers couldn't catch a cold.
We opened up with another dive... ;(
Jacksons passes were way overthrown.
Jackson made a horrible read on 4th down late when he threw it in the endzone on a covered man when he had a man wide open for a first down 10 yards ahead of him.
Jackson tried to fake a stupid pass and threw it down as a fumble instead of taking a sack.
Choked field goal.
Did I mention flipping in the endzone??
I know I'm hammering right now but I'm mad as I've been in awhile!

Re: One of the worst performances I've seen in awhile.
I only watched to 1st half due to internet problems and was pretty upset at halftime and not terribly surprised with the outcome when I got home. I guess, though, this is really what we should have expected this year with last year's issues, youth and a new offensive coaching staff. We can still rally for a good season and a playoff berth but I'm not sure how much confidence I have in that. I expect more changes in the coaching staff for next year. I'm not calling for anyone's ouster but I sense there are going to be changes.
WE ARE YOSEF!

Where did the good ol days go when a coach would jerk a player out of a game for the remainder when they flipped in the endzone or when Woffords player hit our guy out of bounds intentionally and got an unsportsmanship penalty. He was back in 2 plays later.
What's up with asu flipping??

Re: One of the worst performances I've seen in awhile.
Offense was awful. The line was terrible, Jackson was awful, the receivers were awful.
Defense was ground up and spit out by the slo-motion Slothbone offense of Wofford.
Flipping in the end zone? Really? Let's just give them 7.
We were damn lucky this was only a 10 point loss.
We are just not a very good football team.

I agree with most of these points. The game seemed easily winnable, but we just didn't execute.
Does anyone know what happened during the play where our O-Line stopped playing after the snap? I assumed our offensive line thought the Wofford defense went offside. Either way, they should play until the whistle. Was it a trick play?

Re: One of the worst performances I've seen in awhile.
This game has nothing on the El Cid crap show from a few weeks ago. Although, it was certainly an awful performance punctuated with one or two bright spots. Even as awful as the play calling and execution was the team still had a chance in the fourth quarter.
(Not) surprised to see so much aluminum and an empty hill for a solid conference opponent. Folks were heading for the exits in the second quarter and halftime. The bloom is most definitely off the rose.

4th and goal near the end and jackson runs a straight qb draw??
It at least should have been a pass first with the option to run. Heck, it was called from the coaches!! Terrible.
Changes need to be made. To many average years...

We talked about all the empty seats today too. And the stream of people leaving in the 2nd quarter. This was a big game, but you'd have never known it from looking at the stadium. We're regressing both on and off the field.

they are tired of getting beat by teams like this in this fashion. would like much better to get beat by houston, troy, middle tenn, marshalllll fiu. with new coaches.

Re: One of the worst performances I've seen in awhile.
Maybe my/our expectations are too high since our 3 nc years but I'd like to at least become competitive with the top teams again. We are no longer close to the top tier teams...
Re: One of the worst performances I've seen in awhile.
This might sound arrogant but is not intended to be. With our facilities, fan base, attendance, history, stadium setting etc, why are we just an average team in the Socon? With all we have to offer, we should still be the team to beat. We should be able to recruit the best athletes....at least in the Socon. I know Coach Moore prefers to establish the run first. Then why don't we have several bruising and punishing running backs like Kevin Richardson was? I really don't understand what has happened. I'm not talking about playing for National Championships every year. The Rock is losing its reputation as a tough place to play. Where am I going wrong here?

Obviously saying we're just "an average team in the SoCon" is taking it way too far, but I see what you're saying. We're definitely slipping a little bit each year. You're right about the running game. Richardson was special.ASUASU wrote:This might sound arrogant but is not intended to be. I agree. Today sucked. One of worse games from A-Z (take out the "K" for kickoff return) I have seen since 1985. Defense sucked...Offense sucked...Line didn't block worth a crap, Jackson threw 1/2 of his balls out of bounds and the several WRs couldn't catch a cold today.....

Re: One of the worst performances I've seen in awhile.
Not sure how this game could be seen as even close to as bad as The Citadel. We had a lead late but made some big mistakes in the 4th. The Citadel game was over before halftime.
The youth on our defensive line really shows in these games. We can do well against traditional schemes but when you play gimmicky offenses like this, they have got to control the line every down. Up front, we rotate three freshmen, two sophomores and one junior who has seen very little time on the field. My biggest problem is that we insist on a 6-man front with 5 defensive backs, even against option teams who rarely put the ball in the air. I'd love to see Kimbrough, Grier and Anderson on the field together in Statesboro.

Re: One of the worst performances I've seen in awhile.
Peacock and Washington looked like senior leaders yesterday, but they are only 2 players. Miller, running the ball, played pretty well, considering. Miller, catching the ball, looked like he and Price took turns sitting on each others hands. Nothing needs to be said about pass blocking that hasn't already been said a thousand times (anyone notice a theme?)

This has always been the case. When was the bloom on the rose?
