suggestions for miami game
before the game starts, i hope things might be addressed at the stadium in order to streamline the experience...especially with the record crowd! i can speak for only STATE side under the stands. concession and restroom lines need to be guided with stanchion roping. too many times, the lines run clear across the area under the stands impeding flow of public moving north to south. this roping will force the folks buying concessions and going to the restrooms to be parallel with the foot traffic and not perpendicular and a hazard. treat us like dumb cows going to the slaughter...and we will go happily....moooo! also, the satellite food vendors shouldn't be directly across from concession stands because their lines do the same thing...move them to less congested areas. please have satellite drinks/cups/ice only areas with vendors barking out that thats what they are selling...it will cut down on congestion at main concession area because certain people just want a cold beverage( people selling in the stands aint a bad idea either) lastly but most important...the pisser line. if you're the first guy in line...just walk up behind a guy already at the pisser...its not creepy...its speedy. there are 30 urinals i figure on the STATE side main bathroom. no need to wait for first available...just get behind another guy. this will cut down on long lines and get you back to your seat faster. hell, as a joke, i have directed traffic in the pissers just to speed up the line and within a few minutes, there was no line...and thats with me having a degree in poly sci/history...imagine what i could do with a biz management degree!
one last thing..be nice to our visiting fans from miami because as of late, they're not accustomed to large crowds at their stadium...and if they happen to ask you about boone and the surrounding area and if you can possibly recommend a scenic drive...just smile and tell them....I-95 south!

Something will need to be done to organize more or it will be miserable. Unless it rains, then a bunch won't show.

i know these things sound petty but they better have concessions nailed down to a scientific method...and its still can be warm...grab extra ice trucks and do whatever it takes. IMAGE IS EVERYTHING! remember the elon games at elon when app would fill the stands and they'd run out of water and concessions? lets not make that mistake!

I have faith that Gillin used the feedback from last season and will have a plan of action to make sure people move around more freely.

Speaking of Gillin, I suspect that we will hear about a well thought out , well conceptualized plan regarding the Miami game as we get closer to the date. If he comes out with much right now, it makes it appear (right or wrong) that we are gearing up for this monumental game and overlooking the home tilt vs ODU on 9/10.T-Dog wrote:I have faith that Gillin used the feedback from last season and will have a plan of action to make sure people move around more freely.

This is my biggest concern. I fear we will have aluminum showing at kick off, because people aren't ready to part ways with their tailgate.GOAPPS37 wrote:We also need to know when we can officially enter our assigned parking area for tailgating to commence.

Not to mention getting people through the gates in a timely fashion. That's been an issue for crowds of less than 25,000, so think about trying to get 35,000 or so through./\PP ST/\TE GRAD 09 wrote:This is my biggest concern. Much as I'll hate to end the tailgate early, I plan to leave a little extra time to account for that.

I've always left tailgating early...Love watching the band enter the stadium, and seeing the students get ready. This is going to be awesome.EastHallApp wrote:Not to mention getting people through the gates in a timely fashion. Here's my main concern: fans leaving the game by halftime! Getting sick of it.

Re: suggestions for miami game
Admittedly I'm one of the people who tend to linger around tailgates and come in a tad late. I can't see people wanting to miss kickoff for this game. Which brings me to what I'm worried about: bottle necking at the turnstiles and causing fans to be late to the stands./\PP ST/\TE GRAD 09 wrote:This is my biggest concern. Re: suggestions for miami game
This is an opportunity for the new staff to really make as impression. Not only will there be more people attending, but we are going to have people attend this game that haven't attended a game in a long time (if ever). That means they aren't going to know where to go for anything.
If I don't have to wait for more than 20 minutes to get into the stadium I'll be very impressed.

simple...general admission tix for the hill enter the gate above by the APP "A" and filter through that way...that would drop off 7+k folks right there...problem solved...i rule!

Still hope one year the administration will allow fans to leave the stadium and re-enter at no charge like many other schools do.MountaineerChemist10 wrote:Here's my main concern: fans leaving the game by halftime! Getting sick of it.
