Well so much for guys sharing #'s and being on same scheme. Thought they split up by defense or offense.

I assumed Easter was being red shirted. Is that correct?

Easter blew out his knee in last years camp so last year was his shirt year. He is fighting for the 3rd string QB right now. Depending on where he winds up, either QB or ATH, they will adjust his number if they expect him to be on the field at the same time as Capel. Nothing is set in stone yet. They can move him to 9, which has an offense option according to the roster, or if he's moved to WR he can go to the 80's (ATH gives even a few more options). We'll just see what happens when Caruso comes back from being dinged and the staff completes the first depth chart/position chart.

Thanks for the explanation. I didn't know if we were trying to get a medical redshirt for last year and use a second one....or if that was even possible in this scenario. It's always great to have someone who knows the actual answer though. Thanks again!

He can apply for a medical and could get a extra year (don't think it would be a problem given when his injury happened) but that's not done until later. For upperclassmen it will be after the end of this season. The medical would count as an extra year, not his shirt year, although the results would be the same. We'll be applying for medicals for as many as we can come Dec and we'll see who gets one and who wants to take one if granted. Some might prefer to move on and graduate, for those who are upperclassmen. Would love to see Tee Sims back for one more. And who knows with Capel. His situation is so different than most given his time in Charlotte was not normal. We won't know until we try. Just a wait and see for now.
