Was afraid the lack of WR experience would hurt. Didn't think about the kicker.

But whole lot better by us than I expected.

No moral victories. But we will be fine. Watch out, ODU and then...

Yep a kicker that had a few games behind him, and the goalposts would be in the duck pond right now.

I said on another thread that I don't know how a young kid can go out there in front of 100,000 fans and make a kick. I think I got scoffed. Oh well it's Rubino's job. He will do better I'm sure.

See if we do that to Tennessee and they turn out good which its not likely from the looks of it we will be praised and then when we beat Miami we will be worshiped and the if we beat GSU Eagles we will be like gods

Not a tough loss. Great game for our program and WE NEED TO SUPPORT RUBINO. This is not his fault. Win as a team, loose as a team.

Okay I want to see anyone to go into a 100,000 seat stadium with screaming crowd in their first game and do better. Keep you're head up Rubino, you've got this.

He did not miss a last second field goal that could have won it. He didn't put four points on the board. But with plenty of time for Tennessee to change their approach and get their own additional points on the board. Kid is a freshman filling pretty large shoes. The team will get behind him as time goes on and he will get better. We lost a game we were supposed to lose. I'm not going to put the loss on the shoulders of one 18 year old kid. Not when passes were dropped, Lamb made a bad decision with his pick as we were driving, unusual and hard to understand play calling and clock management at the end of the game,

We played one hell of a game and the respect Tennessee coach gave after the game proves we gave it our all. I feel more than confident we will bounce back. ODU should be very scared.

Defense looked amazing. Duck is something special. We've got a lot going for us and although upset at the moment, I feel great about our damn good football team.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!

I just read a few others questioning the fumble recovery. Please one of our rules experts explain the call.

It is my understanding that on 4th down is the only time the original ball carrier has to be the one to recover the ball. Fumbles into the end zone and recovery by offense happen and are accepted often. For a SEC crew who have been known to favor their conference, this officiating crew did a great job. Not many if any flags thrown for questionable offenses.

Ok it was the right call. Does anyone else wonder about our cramping problems? Did y'all notice our DB who stuck his arm up at the crowd as he easily walked off? Our coach or trainer got that arm down quickly. UT fans were doubtful of the cramping issues. Made me think back to the first ECU game a few years back. It was ECU players on the field in the second half- much hotter game. I'm sure we were legit but the last one was curious

The cramping problems concern me. I sure hope that is not an ongoing issue.

Toronto Thomas played well each time J Law went to the sidelines with cramps in his calves. We certainly have more depth this year. WOW..what a great game! Hurts to lose this one, but I wasn't expecting us to play them this close. Barring "key" injuries this team can be something special. Now, on to ODU!!!

We all need to remember that this time last year he was kicking in front of maybe a thousand fans. Last night his first collegiate kick was in front of 100K and a national TV audience. I guarantee you couldn't have driven a 10 penny nail up his butt with a jack hammer. He has a strong leg and will do nothing but get better.
