Wow. I hope they are just being conservative and he can at least serve as a back-up. Anybody know what the plan might be for the backup in the event that Jamal is a no-go? I see a freshman (Alex Villaneuva) who has no number assigned. I know we have a couple of guys who were recruited as QB, but are now playing on D. Anybody know who is taking snaps in practice other than Hallock & Jackson?

Add me to the list of inquiring minds. As it looks now, if Hallock goes down, we are in some deep doo doo.

I have no idea either... just looking at the roster. Yokely #19 has been a previous back up for what 2 or 3 years? That would be a stretch.... What about freshman Paul Maglorie #2 who was originally listed as a QB? Another stretch... Didn't #11 Peacock play QB in high school? Sure looks thin at QB...

Maybe Tony Washington since he's taken a few wildcat snaps this year?

I hope that we aren't in the same situation as Maryland, they are down to using a LB this week since they have lost all 4 scholarship QB's to season ending injuries. The LB did play QB in HS.

yeah and I wonder if the Smith kid who transferred to Elon and has been behind Wilson ever wishes he had stayed at MD? ---

At the rate that they have lost QB's this-all to season ending injuries like ACL's, maybe not since apparrantly they can't protect very well. :)

Speaking of QB injuries, one of the greatest moments in ASU history was when Richie Williams, could barely walk, stepped onto the field and led our team to our first National Championship, our linemen were carrying him to every play. Now I hope Jamal can play and is mobile, this may force him to stay in the pocket more and get rid of the ball quicker which may not be an altogether bad thing.

Andrew Peacock was a great QB in high school. If JJ is not able to go or is limited, could be interesting to give GSU a few looks at him taking snaps. Probably wouldn't take any looks down the field but he is dynamite with the ball in his hands and would change up the pace on them. I doubt we see it but it would be fun to watch.

Washington must have been slightly injured last week as well, did he take a snap? I know he didn't return any kicks. Hope to have him on those this week, we would need to win the special teams battle to have a chance.

Washington scored two TD's against WCU. I do not think he returned any kicks though.

Yeah, knew he played at WR but don't think he returned any or took any direct snaps.

I just saw Brandon Grier. He told me he would not be playing this Saturday.

I think I heard DJ say that they wanted to spread ST duties around a bit so they don't overuse some of the skill players. Of course, that could mean that TW was also a bit banged up and they wanted to save him for this week in ST play.

Hallock played a GREAT game and had ridiculous stats. However that was against a pretty terrible defense with WCU. It'll be interesting to see if he can keep his cool under more pressure against GaSO (if he does indeed start).

I hope #12 can recover and play. He a great leader on this team. Not sure who else is avilable to play QB. I gained lots of faith in #16 last week though. He showed some good leadership skills coming off the bench with confidence and completing 20 of 21 with 2 TDs. Also, I wouldn't mind seeing him roll out and throw another left handed pass like he did during that spring practice game. That was wild and that would freak The Stink out down in Knatsboro.
