Thank you Tennessee!
Kudos to Tennessee coming back and laying a stomping on VaTech! Gives us a little more validation for now.

I really dislike herbstreit, all about Tenn lack of motivation and intensity against us. I think it would kill him to say anything good about a non P5 school.

Re: Thank you Tennessee!
I've said this numerous times that APP not being part of the money cartel of the P5 and networks, we are second class citizens.
Satterfield had APP ready to go, the talking head should have mentioned it being Butch Jones fault for not having his team ready to go. What is his salary 4 million dollars? It's about protecting the money flow. You wont hear the deserved kudos for non P5 schools in the same conversation with a P5.

He was also the one holding up actual cupcakes on the college gameday set and had a few minutes monologue expressing how top teams should never play FCS schools (cupcakes). What happened that day? App beat #5 Michigan. Herbstreit is a jerk.AppOrange wrote:I really dislike herbstreit, all about Tenn lack of motivation and intensity against us. "Miami is down"
"New coach, need to to adjust"
"Miami looking ahead to it's bye week"
All stupid excuses. He is an ass clown.

If Satterfield becomes a 3-4 million $ P5 coach, then you'll hear these Heads saying how wonderful the job he did for APP ST.

We want cred... then our guys need to go out and smash the P5 teams in the teeth each and every time we play them. Do that enough, we'll get proper respect. These things don't happen overnight, it takes building a history of sticking it to the bigger guys.

Enjoyed taking my boys down to the field yesterday after the game. Got pics with Duck, Cox and Stringer. My take on them is that they are small guys but beasts. Amazed how well Stringer plays LB at his size. I can't believe how big some of our redshirt guys are. The McClure brothers look like some big boys.

Re: Thank you Tennessee!
Devan Stringer is "tiny" by most college football standards. He plays like he's a giant! I love to watch him play. Clifton Duck is going to be a really special player, too. He's another one who's fun to watch.bigdaddyg wrote:Enjoyed taking my boys down to the field yesterday after the game. Got pics with Duck, Cox and Stringer. You're absolutely right on the redshirt freshmen. By the time they've got a year of Coach Mike's S&C program under their belts along with the quality coaching they'll get, they'll be more than ready to step up and fill slots next year. It's all good.
What a great day to be a Mountaineer!

Re: Thank you Tennessee!
Raises the stakes even higher for next week. If we beat Miami I guarantee you we will see/hear plenty of "You know, maybe App State is pretty good" takes from the media. Media are all about recency, and two good showings vs. heavyweights in three weeks will get their attention (at least if we win this one).
If we lay an egg, it will just validate all the people saying Tennessee just overlooked us and played badly.

Re: Thank you Tennessee!
You're welcome! Felt good to see our boys play like they're capable of playing. Was a little nervous at the beginning, but quickly became relaxed after that 24-0 run we went on. I watched ASU/ODU, Cox had a heck of a game. Made me a little nervous to see him limping off the field. Defense looked good. All in all a good week of football for both our teams. I will be glued to the Miami game this week. It's time for App to prove to the country what they proved to us.

Well the only thing that will get these goon's attention is if we go in and beat/scare Miami this week. Either one will legitimize that we're a tough team and not a fluke.

Re: Thank you Tennessee!
They still didn't play great. That Oline has some issues. Overall that D took over and offense was very productive in the 2nd Q which lead to the game being pretty much over at that point. I will take 2-0 however we get it.
I am pulling for you guys against Miami. 1 it makes us look better but 2 you guys have a good team. Cox is a great running back.
