What is the significance/origin of "Josef's Cabin"? Interesting name for a football message board.

It is actually Yosef and he is our mascot and represents every student and Alumni. Mountain talk for "yourself". Here is a brief history:

Via Wikipedia:
Yosef is the mascot for Appalachian State. The origin of the name Yosef comes from mountain talk for "yourself", the idea being that if you are a fan, friend or alumnus and have a heart of black and gold, you are Yosef. Yosef first appeared in the 1942 edition of The Rhododendron, Appalachian's annual yearbook. He was presented as a member of the freshman class with the name Dan'l Boone Yoseff from Appalachian. The second "f" was dropped from Yoseff in January 1947. Since his inception, Yosef has gone through many appearance changes with the current design being adopted prior to the 1983–84-year. The 2006 football season saw the return of Yosef's rifle which was fired after every Appalachian touchdown.

Pretty sure big daddy was ribbing Daytona because of the misspelling of our mascot. Wwhether it was intentional or unintentional I don't know.

Yes absolutely just ribbing a little because of the misspelling. Just having fun. I'm doing the best I can with that lines thing but it's hard with the big crayons.

I agree the larger crayons are a bit more challenging.

Deliverance was a movie about South Georgia.

That's right and the family trees with no branches might exist in the state that also uses Mountaineers as a mascot name. There is obviously some confusion here.

Seems that, that may not be the first time, this has come up? Obviously a joke, as we've had many "interesting" movies in our neck of the woods. However, to be 100 % accurate, there was at least one scene shot in Sylva, NC.

And no, I would never confuse you with the other Mountaineers - who family trees do not branch and they play spin the cousin as entertainment.

BigDaddyyg, I graduated with a 4.2 GPA, but no courses in typing. How about you? Familiar with typos? Not done intentionally.

Attention to detail is important in my line of work.

Were you a women's studies major or something?

Actually, Deliverance is set in the Mountains of NORTH Georgia. South Georgia is flat and the rivers don't really feature much in the way of white water.
