Think about the liability of any stadium, school, event, etc staying open in light of the events. If Tom gets sick at X event we live in a world where he can say "I know I bought the ticket. I know I got in the car. I know I drove there. I know I am fully responsible for making the choice to come here......but you should've locked the gates and not let me in...I'm suing you.

That's fair and I agree with your points. I still think they could have suspended all activities for a period of time and reevaluated instead of just closing up shop.
