2024 Baseball Mega Thread

I don’t like the MLB rule that dictates defensive placement, but in an odd way I wish colleges used it. Hate seeing some of the alignments we’re using nowadays.

Personally, I don't like the shift and I think college ball should seriously consider it and I believe as 94 said earlier, it can contribute to pitchers trying too hard to throw to spots which in come cases can work against what the pitchers best pitches may be

We just added a game v ETSU this Tuesday. Away though, but a huge chance for a quality win and a 3 game sweep vs. them.
We may be adding it to boost RPI and make a run at this dang thing!

Agreed. Most teams are playing 54-56 games and we’re at 52 with that addition. Hope it doesn’t effect us in the arms aspect but maybe Kermit sees it as an opportunity to bolster the resume against a good ETSU team.

I'd imagine it'll be a staff day in place of bullpen sessions. We won't over use arms before the last series of the season.

I want the short sleeve nike hoodie with our helmet as the decal on the front. It’s our white and gold brim helmet with Yosef on it. Guys are wearing it in the dugouts. Has their numbers on the sleeve man it’s beautiful.

Looking at the standings after Friday results, things are really getting tight from 2nd place to 6th. With Troy and Stink losing it seems anything is possible. Oh what that Wake win would have done for the big picture. Stay hot and Give ‘em Hell Boys!

So basically we are shooting for being solidly in 4th place and looking for Troy to keep sliding which could mean 3rd place- huge series next weekend of course. Gotta take care of the weekend but looking very good. Side note- how the hell is Coastal still in the discussion for an at large being so far down the belt standings? Is their out of conference record that impressive?

It would take a huge hit BUT, they've got a midweek vs current #2 Clemson. So even with a series loss, a win there would put them right back up into contention.

I agree bigdaddy1, it’s really weird to look at our conference standings then look at RPI…….. they aren’t related at all…. to me they way over value SOS…. CC did play 11 P5 games, JMU 6 and App 2……. they both have been riding those…… I did notice a few minutes ago that we are now 68 and GASO dropped to 71….. still weird to see SOAL ahead of us… RPI does not factor head-to-head games…..anyway just keep winning and things will take care of themselves….. if I had to pick the top 4 teams in SunBelt right now…..Troy, ULL, JMU and Apps….. 1-0 baby!

Our only real chance to make a sizable move up, outside of continuing to win, is for ETSU and Coastal to win out. Those are 4 wins of ours that can become Q1 if those teams finish strong.
