We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread
The aluminum bat affects pitching stats to the negative, right? The ball jumps off the bat. How does playing on turf affect the pitching stats? I wouldn’t think 2500 feet elevation would have a great effect on the spin of the ball coming out of a pitcher’s hand. Some effect, but how much? I’d say the wind is the main negative factor for pitchers? Maybe not.

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread
I would think the turf would help and hurt a pitcher. These kids that play on turf have never seen a bad bounce so cleaner D but turf is faster so maybe more hits given up? The thing with the spin is the seams are lowered so not as much movement and less air resistance - saw it may fly 20ft more in air. So with low seams +wind/cold + aluminum = no buenoCro-Magnon App wrote: ↑Thu Mar 06, 2025 4:57 pmThe aluminum bat affects pitching stats to the negative, right? The ball jumps off the bat. I always struggle with the thought of the turf mounds but think the guys are use to it by now.

Sunny and 65 degrees.
7’ above sea level.
No excuses. Win anyway.
And throw strikes for Stonewall.

It’s already extremely chippy. This ump is a joke.
Wind is probably blowing 15mph our dead left field.

Had our chances. Wilson looked really good. Doesn’t seem to be much clutch hitting and again guys leaving games due to injury tweaks. Could be in for a rough one tomorrow. CofC is a single hitting machine.

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread
I didn't get to watch it but just looking at the box score the pitching did well. I don't think Friday's has been the problem so far. Hope the guys continue to step up and keep them in the games - hitting will get it done. The trends have been interesting this season so far. When pitching has been good the O hasn't been the at their best and when they are on the pitching is off.
Saturday and Sunday seem likes a good time to break the trends and put it all together. Why not right?

I’ll be there today with another App alum. Weather should be nice with temps in the upper 70’s. Time for an App win.

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread
Marks is dealing. If we can get him going…
He’s sitting 92 touching 93.
9-0 thru 6.
Lichtenstein at short is the real deal. eXcellent lower base and smooth in the field. The boys are loving 78 and sun.

21 hits! 3 pop ups in a row the wind has gotten and CofC can’t handle.
13-0! B9.
13-0! B9.

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread
Marks kept the ball down today. Induced a ton of groundouts. No errors, solid ball. Sat 91-92 and pitched to contact early. 90-95 pitches which is awesome, maybe only 1 walk.
Today makes me feel better about the Sun Belt now, but still work left to do.
1 more tomorrow, might be a little wet.

Great game all around. Marks lives up to the D2 All American recognition today.

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread
Apparently the CAA has no money and can’t get ESPN+. CofC really should be in a different conference for baseball/basketball.
I’ll be there again tomorrow to try and update, but Patriots Pt and Shem Creek area has the worst service I’ve ever seen for a metropolitan area. Charleston Food and Wine is also going on so you can imagine the grid being overwhelmed.
