Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread
2 out of 3 ain't bad .
I really like this version of Bradley Wilson.
I may have missed the reason behind the comment related to "too cute on lineup change" .. overall..Luft had 4 hits and the Smiley had 2 hits after coming into the game during game 3.

It’s more of a we’re injured as heck thing than a too cute. Although, we do play matchups too much with L/R, very analytical at times. Same with shifts on D.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Sun Mar 30, 2025 6:17 am2 out of 3 ain't bad .

Currently down Kramer, Zamora, Xuereb and McCammon at the plate. Not to mention Correa, and Evans are playing thru injuries. We need to bubble wrap ourselves.

Are you saying "overcoaching" is an issue with this squad? No rhetoric here, just curious.311neers wrote: ↑Sun Mar 30, 2025 7:58 amIt’s more of a we’re injured as heck thing than a too cute. Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread
Wouldn’t call it overcoaching, maybe slightly over analytical. I get the lefty/righty lineup switches to an extent, if that’s what the data tells you to do, do it. But we’re so injured now we’re hitting guys that haven’t played in weeks just to hit a righty.Bootsy wrote: ↑Sun Mar 30, 2025 8:07 amAre you saying "overcoaching" is an issue with this squad? The shifts are what intrigue me the most, would love to see what % clip we have success with a shift on D. At this level of ball, pitching to play the shift is just very difficult, meaning pitchers have to hit their spots to force guys to hit into the shift, which is just really difficult for a college arm to do.

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread
I am actually fine with the lefty coming in when they had 3 Lefty's in a row coming to bat....if...and a big if...the lefty is serviceable pitcher. This is a area that we have not been good..lefty pitchers lately...that actually may have been the origin of the original comment above about too cute ..I did not review comments until after the game..Bootsy wrote: ↑Sun Mar 30, 2025 8:07 amAre you saying "overcoaching" is an issue with this squad? Think the original comment was about our tweaks in the lineup.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Sun Mar 30, 2025 8:42 amI am actually fine with the lefty coming in when they had 3 Lefty's in a row coming to bat....if...and a big if...the lefty is serviceable pitcher. 1. Were extremely injured so not many bats to go to, lost Kramer and Zamora during the weekend.
2. I could be assuming but the OP comment to being “too cute with the lineup” could be about hitting Lopez (hasn’t played much) against a righty just because Lopez is a lefty, when you have a pretty dang good bat in Luft (R) sitting right there. But then in game 2, Luft (R) came in and knocked around their lefty! So maybe it’s all just part of the plan and I’m overthinking it! Hahaha
Bringing in our lefty to face their 3 lefties makes sense, that’s Watson’s role this year it seems.

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread
Great weekend, arms looked good, even without Marks.
Need good news from Zamora and Kramer coming out of the weekend.
Good news is that we have an extra day of rest now before Tuesday.
Props to all the fans that showed up, excellent crowd. Need to check the numbers but that looked like a potential 1K+ crowd.

100% beat who you are suppose to beat and sneak a series win or two in. SBC is very top heavy this year and then there's the rest.

Thankfully had arms to go yesterday thanks to Wilson. Starter couldn’t make it out of 1st in 3rd game.

Game One attendance: 1,088
Game Two attendance: 361
Hopefully the three “ladies” who got booted from the second game yesterday won’t be allowed to return to Smith Stadium this season. We don’t need that kind of App supporters.

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread
Here’s what I saw: Three (definitely attractive) App coeds got into a shouting match with four (equally attractive) ODU coeds early in the second game. I’m guessing all seven were somehow connected to their respective baseball teams. I’m also guessing alcohol played a big role. The shouting was innocuous for a while (sometimes even funny: “Girl, you need to lay off the cheeseburgers” was one line) but the App threesome elevated the conversation to where the entire stadium was subjected to a lengthy profanity-laced verbal attack with lots of obscene gestures. The ODU girls retreated to an area where there were more ODU fans but the shouting continued from the App girls. First the stadium authorities told them to tone it down, then a minute or two later the police escorted them out. I’m not sure what happened to the ODU girls, but they may have been asked to leave, too. The scene left many of us embarrassed that our own fans had been so obnoxious.

Should have taken them to the octagon to fight it out.AppGrad78 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 30, 2025 11:44 amHere’s what I saw: Three (definitely attractive) App coeds got into a shouting match with four (equally attractive) ODU coeds early in the second game.
