Love Kermit as a coach but more importnabtly a person. But you can’t go from 4th to not making the conf tourney in a span of 3.5 weeks. I want Kermit to stay, but we do need to re-asses the assistant pool.
It seems he is very loyal to his assistants. (where have we heard this before) Not sure if that happens.
You have been more adamant with expectations than I have over the past couple of years. Two years ago was amazing and everything came together for a deep run in the SBC. Last year was an above average year (not good but above average). Other than that is hasn't been roses. He has brought this program to respectability. It's hard to maintain what he's trying to accomplish at a lower level D1 with the variables they have to deal with regardless of conference affiliation. They are fighting an uphill fight constantly.
I think they do have some talent but lack the necessary depth required for the expectations of some.
We were 21-16 not even a month ago and looking like we could be a 30 win team. Then sh*t hit the fan in all phases. Hitting, pitching, fielding and coaching. At least could have squandered a .500 record like most thought going into the year. 1 step forward, 2 steps back. Retain the young bats, raise NIL money and find some arms.
Oh, and give Steensma the keys.
Per 247 Steensma is not coming back. Again where is the NIL money coming from? More scholarships will be needed as well. Good luck finding the quality arms needed.
I must have missed that. He’s been with the team all year and working out last I heard. Why would we let him do that if he was leaving? Huge bummer if he is leaving. There’s a family on the team with some donor pockets. That would be a start. Start dialing for dollars!
I found the post its from 12/12. The post also says he's has enough tape to be drafted in the spring even with UCL injury

I would say he has a better shot of coming back then getting drafted at this point.

History could repeat itself here, but I think Kermit is a solid HC; he can turn things around, but he may need to cut some folks loose from his staff.
No matter what, letting employees go is never easy. He’s in a tough spot, but I truly hope he learns from what happened with SC. Winning games is paramount.

I don’t see an infusion of revenue sharing dollars into baseball, unless a new donor emerges. It has been made clear to me that football and to a much lesser extent, basketball, is where what funds we have will be invested.

We're making this guy look like Cy Young. Let's put Evans in CF & move Figd to 3rd. See if we can generate something.
