Nico Soul…any relation to David Soul from the 1970’s show Starsky & Hutch?

Best world series I’ve seen.
This fits the thread because Apps ex pitching coach is with the Blue Jays.

Can’t slide feet first into a flat plate!!
Head first and that’s a Blue Jay WS victory! Easier to manuever and extend your hand than your cleat/foot.

Also, bases were loaded. Why are you sliding? It’s a force out. Sprint thru that bag like running to first. Sliding slows you down a tick.

For some reason, people don't understand that or just react and slide when they shouldn't. The other thing that cost him was his lead. He was not taking a lead commensurate with where the 3rd basemen was playing. Basic fundamentals.

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread
In the new era of NCAA sports/NIL/portal, it is imperative we invest in the programs that give us the best chance/odds to make a postseason run. Baseball talent is everywhere. Everyone plays as kids.
NCAAF- 1 bid league (g5)- Talent is top heavy at the P5 level. We seem to be getting farther and farther from playoffs as we progress into this NIL era. Can't afford to keep anyone when teams pay individual players our whole NIL Budget.
NCAAB- Sun Belt- 1 bid league. Max 14 seed playing a 2 or 3 seed round 1. See above.
NCAA baseball- Sun Belt--- 3 to 5 bid league every year. There is enough talent in the southeast to form a good team. There also isnt as much money involved so it is easier to retain good talent. Kids don't seem to be "chasing bags" in baseball. "For the love of the game" type sport.
Football obviously makes money so I am fine with continuing to try there.
But, we need to refocus where our time and dollars go for other sports as Sun Belt baseball is usually the 4th to 5th best conference in D1. Year in Year out a SBC team or 2 makes a deep playoff run.
I am ready for the schedule release! Go Apps.

Schedule is trickling in - 1 mid week game against Duke in mid Feb. - 3 at GW - 2 against HPU - 2 against UNC A - 2 against WF
none against Charlotte
no ECU
none against the rest of the local P5's including Clemson and USC
Basically going to be similar to last year.

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread
Boring.
Hopefully no Hickory games either. (unless needed for snow/cold replacements.
Time to rack up the wins.

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread
Jealous of QU's non-conf schedule. They aren't good yet but continue to put the $$$ and exposure to be a better program. Get a little guaranteed $$$ as well.

And none of the other 3 OOC weekends are P4 or even big mid major?

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread
I'm hoping one weekend is a strong mid major but if history tells at least 2 teams will be traveling here from the NE. Maybe a Campbell or CoC but they are not doing a QU's schedule for sure. Tar heels haven't put their schedule out yet maybe there's a chance.311neers wrote: ↑Tue Nov 18, 2025 10:45 amSo 1 of 4 OOC weekends is GW away.
