Injuries are part of the game , everyone has them, good teams overcome. We aren’t very good.
I agree but this year has been extraordinarily bad for injuries. Very few teams have enough depth to overcome those sort of losses.

We're a dropped ball in CF away from winning the series. USA isn't very good, but it's at least a step in the right direction. We have to win a minimum of two if not three next weekend to have any chance of making some noise in Montgomery.

IF we make it to Montgomery, just getting there is still in question.

I just got home from Boone for lunch with my mom and was getting ready to check the score. I thought "we probably destroyed them after losing first 2" and I laughed when I saw the score.

All App has to do is win one and USA loses one to make the tournament.

Sweeping GSU is the only way I see of having a chance at sneaking up to 6th and avoiding the elimination game. But that requires some help, and we actually have good tiebreakers against the teams ahead of us minus GaSo.

Would go a long way to salvage this season by winning the series vs ga st then finding at least 1 win in Sunbelt tourney

On the injury situation. Anyone know how Steensma is doing? Also will Kramer and Marks have another year and are they getting healthy? I remember hearing that the Freshman catcher Weinstein had a very good Fall but do not recall him getting any time on the field. Injury, red-shirt or just not as good as thought?

Clark could be the Saturday/Sunday guy.
Let Wilson start Saturday. Best back to the pen or mid relief.

We’re just wasting Wilson bringing him in down 4-1 every game. Just let him start.
Seems like Best needs to warm up a little longer before he starts. It seems to be 25-30 pitches in the 1st inning and then he gets into a groove and pitches decently. Of course by then it's time for him to come out of the game.

He's a bullpen max effort guy. We've just got him up there as an opener as options are thin, but IMO you let Wilson just start Satudays and have Clark go Sunday. Best and Fisher out of the pen as closer/shutdown guys.
I'd rather have Wilson start in a tie 0-0 game than come in down 4-1 usually, just seems like a wasted day at that point where we have to claw back.

I think the Kramer situation might be a little more difficult than we thought originally.
I did hear Weinstein was pretty good in the fall from numerous circles, he's just buried behind 3 Catchers already who have been on campus for 2-3+ years. If he decides to stay, I'd say he could be a contributor next year.

I agree with you, but if we're going to continue the way we're doing it, warm him up longer. Same for whatever point he comes in the game.

Maybe the bats are alive again? I think that’s my hope . I don’t see anything on the mound , or much there anyway, that I would count on.

Bats have to be hot.
Cross can win a game.
Wilson can win a game.
And then you roll the dice with Clark, Best, Harris, Fisher, Watson, Beaty.

But, take care of business this weekend. 2 of 3 or sweep. Have to have it.

We need both So. Miss and Beach Chickens to lose their first game...and then one to lose again earlier in the tournament so they are out.
Then we need our lesser performing pitchers to out perform their regular season performance.
