If this year's team were playing in the Old SoCon, they would still be in the cellar.Blackandgold wrote:JTApps1 wrote:CofC was still in the league in 2013. The point is the Sun Belt is the better baseball league.
And my point is... Not by as much as your trying to make it.

And if the top three Socon teams from 2012 played in the sunbelt any year, they would do well. That's just my opinion.

Agreed as well.WataugaMan wrote:Agreed
Look no further than last years, conference RPI results. The Sunbelt finished at #10 and the SoCon at #11. This is despite the Cajuns being ranked #1 in the nation the majority of the year, significantly pulling up their ratings.. I will give that by perception the SunBelt is overall a better conference, but certainly not heads and shoulders better than where we came from when looking at the underlying numbers.

Re: Baseball
The SoCon was a good baseball league (that was it's best sport by the end of our time there), but there is no doubt a step up in competition now. Just 2 years ago the SB was the #5 conference in the country.
Does it make a difference to the performance of this years team? Probably not.

This is the first time I've had a chance to watch the Neers play baseball this season. I just changed it. Couldn't even stomach the first inning.

Drove down, we are a bad team. Pitchers couldn't find the plate, four errors, hitters couldn't hit vs a pitcher that couldn't throw over 82 mph.
SC isn't a great team either.

Re: Baseball
17 errors in the last 5 games. That includes no errors on Saturday vs Troy. 10 of the 17 errors are coming from the left senior of the infield, both of them seniors.
The team only had one 4-or-more-error game before this stretch (Game 1 vs GaSo), now they've had three in a week plus three errors on Friday (6 vs A&T in a win).
Yes this team is walking wounded and have a skeleton crew out there, but there's no pulse. The players are trying and they can't be faulted for that, but management has failed them.
