Agree on the contract talk, or lack thereof. That could be a decision that is led by either side.

If you haven’t sat out in right center, you should. I would recommend everyone watch a game out thereT-Dog wrote: ↑Thu Apr 20, 2023 6:03 pmOne thing about Kermit is that he has diligently fundraised for the program. Turf, batters eye, terraced seating, that weird deck in right center, he's helped out there a lot.
I feel that the fact that his contract is up after the season and we haven't heard a peep about an extension says a lot.

I don’t mean this to be a jab at you but 1000% he does. That’s a dumb question. Him and his family love it here

This team is entertaining for better or worse. What a win. Previous years that’s an automatic loss. This team fights and it’s fun to watch

I only ask because he may see that his ceiling is limited here and that consistent success is difficult given his resources and may limit his chances to advance his career. Kermit is one of the nicest guys around and I am sure that he and his family enjoy Boone. He is a better coach than his record indicates.Appstate35 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 21, 2023 8:18 pmI don’t mean this to be a jab at you but 1000% he does. That’s a dumb question. Re: 2023 Baseball Mega Thread
App would be crazy not to extend Smith’s contract. A near-sellout tonight, coming on the heels of our first-ever sellout. Fans know he’s building a quality team and they’re voting with their feet. Once we get more pitching help, the bandwagon is going to get crowded.

Re: 2023 Baseball Mega Thread
The program is clearly improving at the same time the league is getting tougher. This is our first year being fully funded for scholarships. That lack of funding in prior years has made it difficult to build depth. Kermit deserves a few more years to show what he can do now that he is at least a little closer to a level playing field.
It's too bad Tuthill had to miss this year with surgery. The weekend rotation would be very solid with him in the mix.

Re: 2023 Baseball Mega Thread
I have watched many of the games. Team fights all game long even when getting hammered at Stink in the one game last weekend. Even last night, they kept battling and it paid off. I believe the players really enjoy playing for him. Pitching is the issue. I realize pitchers have got to go make pitches and coaches cannot do that for them... hopefully, the coaching staff will find some in off-season. They will need to replace some good talent in the field as well. But that is for next year.
