We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Re: @ Louisiana
Final is 3-0. Solid pitching and defense again, but we can only manage 4 hits. Of course that was likely the best starter in the conference, but were just not good at the plate.

Re: @ Louisiana
Games like tonight knowing we have a team full of .250 hitters and somehow we manage to have the tying run at the plate in late innings yet come up empty.... reminds me of one of my all time favorite movies...
"Know what the difference between hitting .250 and .300 is? It's 25 hits. 25 hits in 500 at bats is 50 points, okay? There's 6 months in a season, that's about 25 weeks. That means if you get just one extra flare a week - just one - a gorp... you get a groundball, you get a groundball with eyes... you get a dying quail, just one more dying quail a week... and you're in Yankee Stadium."

Re: @ Louisiana
Against better competition, you're correct, we are not good at the plate. Another goose egg is produced. On another note, being on the road constantly will wear ya down after awhile, with only one home game thus far I'd say the team has done pretty well. Anyway, it sure would be nice to take at least one game this weekend, only way to do that is to score. Almost only counts in horseshoes.JTApps1 wrote:Final is 3-0. Re: @ Louisiana
That is great and so true. I have two boys who play baseball and have done so for 5 years. Start high school next year. I have coached for years and my mantra is that in baseball you can fail 7 out of 10 times and be in Cooperstown. That one extra hit somewhere is huge. I also preach on base %. Huge difference in .300 and .400.AppDawg wrote:Games like tonight knowing we have a team full of .250 hitters and somehow we manage to have the tying run at the plate in late innings yet come up empty.... reminds me of one of my all time favorite movies...

Re: @ Louisiana
For perspective, 4 of our 11 hits come in the 9th inning alone.
We were efficient from the plate today... just struck out 4 times.

I looked it up in the 9th. Worst home loss for ULL since March 29, 2014, a 13-4 defeat to Western Kentucky.

The 4 strike outs are a great sign. The hits will come as long as you put the ball in play and put pressure on the defense.AppDawg wrote:For perspective, 4 of our 11 hits come in the 9th inning alone.

This is a massive win for the program and team. This team continues to compete with some of the best.
