Game 2: 6-4 Texas State leads in the top of 8th...App fought back to tie the game 4-4 after trailing 4-1...the pen again fails...Schmid did leave the game with two on but Schaeffer gave up two hits...all six runs charged to Schmid but the pen couldn't stop the bleeding...once again late innings kill us. Hopefully, we can do something in our last two at bats.

I was also disappointed, especially after clawing our way back. I really like the team. Go Apps!

I can't wait to get up the mountain for a game or two when tax season is over. Everything I see about the team this year seems miles from where we were a year ago.

We certainly have been competitive thus far in the Belt but it would be nice to pick up some wins. Of course, starting the season with two of the better teams in the league doesn't help.

I'm very happy with our progress but I think this weekend was a step back. That's okay. We knew we weren't there yet

Most of the time Heff is wrong ;) but he's spot on tonight. We had been exceeding expectations for the most part until this weekend. Still very pleased with the trajectory of the program.

Baseball can be a cruel game. Unreal we dropped the late game yesterday. Watts was lights out with a 3 hitter. 2 of those coming in the top of the 1st.

We out hit them and had overall better plate discipline. 3 K's to their 10.

Unfortunately, a pick-off (got the out) to 1st with runner on 3rd... and a wild pitch was the difference.

Boys are playing great... here's to the law of averages catching back up to us and turning some of these close "L's" to "W's".

Thus far we do very well against middle of the road teams, against the better competition, not so good. Although there is definite improvement, we're having difficulty turning the corner to be considered a good team. We have had three losses this season when leading going into the 9 inning, need to learn how to close the deal! One thing for certain, finishing the season dead last in the conference (again) isn't an option! We've had some tough losses thus far hopefully something was learned. Go Apps!
