Fantastic turnaround by coach Hoerner!

Did we even win 6 games last year?

Softball won 14, 11 and 14 games in the last three seasons.

They still got a long way to go, but it seems like the culture has been addressed. I felt that even going back to last summer, Hoerner was making that the top priority. They almost knocked off UVA in two games.

They're still going to be bringing a knife to a machine gun fight in the Sun Belt, but I'm happy for them. They've won five total league games in the last three years.

Not sure four wins v. Norfolk State is the best measure of where they are but, they did do so in convincing fashion. Still a ways to go to be competitive in the Belt but progress is the key.

I heard one of the softball parents on Saturday describe Coach Hoerner as "a breath of fresh air". The parent continued by saying there was no question that Coach Hoerner is "coach" and knows when to lay down the law and how to do so effectively. It was fun to watch her coach and see the players' responses to her.

Yes, they'll be hitting much stiffer competition in the weeks ahead and may struggle in league play. I do believe they're headed the right direction though.
