BB and SB in Boone 6-8 April 2018

Unread post by McLeansvilleAppFan » Mon Apr 02, 2018 7:31 pm

BB and SB are home this weekend, and snow is in the forecast for Saturday.

Do they dare move another home series?

BB double up on Sunday and hope for no rain on Friday?

SB do a triple-header on Sunday or come in a day early and try to squeeze in a Friday game?

Both play off the mountain but get Troy here in NC?
This is my very generic signature added to each post.

Snow aside, could cold weather be used more as an advantage vice disadvantage? I remember hearing that Bud Grant, former Minnesota Viking coach, used the colder climate to his team's advantage. Coach Grant would remove all the heaters from the Viking sidelines while the opposition had them. Whenever the opposing team was on the field they were not used to the cold and were "dying" to get back to the heat. Meanwhile The Vikings were already accustomed to the cold, thus, they kept on going. Just look at Bud Grant's record and it's plain to see he was on to something. Maybe it's time to get some of those opposing teams (warmer climate teams) up here to play in the cold, could give us an advantage. Just a thought.

"Grant's most infamous rule: No heaters on the sidelines. To be sure, other teams used them. ... Beyond psychology, Grant had sound reason. When he looked across the field, he noticed a trend. 'What are the players doing?' Grant said. 'They're huddling around the heaters. Our players watching the game, ready to play.'"

Thank goodness for midweek games! I think this is our 5th midweek victory for a team with 7 wins.

Forecast has come off the snow for Saturday, but a wet day is coming. Our chance for three games is playing earlier on Friday and start an 11am, or earlier, DH on Sunday.

Earlier on Friday has happened, first pitch moved to 3pm instead of 6pm. Saturday has a late 3pm start, so possibility of a DH being avoided. Perhaps we start even later on Saturday.
