@ A&T
Being picked off at first once in a game is not good. Twice in a game really not good. Twice in one inning, getting hard to describe in words. Two batters in a row. Uggh, all I can make are gutteral sounds in frustration.
This is my very generic signature added to each post.

Re: @ A&T
I believe it's fair to question where this program is going. I'm not giving up on Kermit. But good grief this team is terrible and has no chemistry.
If this team goes 15-40, then next season will be Kermit's third out of a four year contract in a year where there needs to be some kind of upward tick for the better. Doesn't matter how we got to this point or the mess he inherited. These are his wins and losses.

Re: @ A&T
The biggest concern I see is no improvement week after week, seems we're getting worse. At this point I didn't expect us to be a "power house", however, I thought we'd at least be somewhat competitive.

Re: @ A&T
KS is a proven head coach... just what we needed. He works to win on & off the field. He’s been to D2 CWS a couple of times. However, being at APP is “a whole different ballgame”. App weather adjustments and Sunbelt competition. May take a little longer to get a winning formula together.

Re: @ A&T
From what I understand we are severly underfunded from a scholarship stand point. Until that changes we are not going to attract the talent we need to compete in the Sunbelt. I can't tell you how desperately we need more YOSEF club members to help fill this gap. I know most folks on here are YOSEF club members but we need you guys to help us attract more members. I would love to see us hit DG's goal of $4m this year, but we can't do it without your help!
I serve on the YOSEF Club advisory board and if I can help anyone with recruiting new members I am always glad to help. DM me and let me know if you need my help!

Re: @ A&T
I agree, the difference in coaching at the D2 level compared to coaching in a very good D1 conference is obvious. Given this fact (along with youth), expecting a winning record at this point is unreasonable. However, improvement (as the season progresses) and a little competitiveness should be expected. Hopefully, we'll start seeing that soon.

Re: @ A&T
As it currently stands per conference RPI, the Sun Belt is "P6". That's quite the step up in competition for Kermit. Not to make excuses as he knew, or should have known, what he was getting into. Based on what he inherited and the youth of this team, it will be long road to hoe for App's program to achieve respectability. Trying to keep the faith!

Re: @ A&T
While one or two of you are continually throwing our coach under the bus, here's something to consider:
Below is a list of the states in the southeast that have Division I baseball programs, ranked highest to lowest by the number of Division I programs in that state. These are the programs we compete against and in some cases recruit against. Do you see the anomaly? And in case you haven't noticed, in the past year App State's Olympics sports programs -- including baseball -- have confined their recruiting to in-state prospects. That's an effort to keep the athletics program in the black. The point is, any program in a state the size of North Carolina is going to face an uphill challenge if its recruiting pool is limited to a state that has 17 other Division I programs.

Re: @ A&T
Point well taken 78, but of those 18 where does App rank? And secondly does that rank within those NC schools look high or low?
A quick glance and we should be 8th-10th any given year. I doubt we are.

Re: @ A&T
I'm not sure I understand your point. We recruit against each of these schools in one way or another. Usually we fare well against the Gardner-Webbs and N.C. Central's of the state, not so much against the Duke's and UNC's. But you can bet we knock heads with all of these schools.

Re: @ A&T
You're a smart guy, you can see where I'm going with this.
App is ranked 191 in RPI and just lost to NCA&T RPI of 243. Only A&T, NCCU, UNCA, and WCU are below us in RPI on those NC schools.
Is it okay to finish 14th out of those 18 programs in our state?
He inherited a dumpster fire, not a Capel dumpster fire, but pretty bad. So I'm not off the Kermit train by any means, but I can understand the frustration with the program too.

As a homeowner in 28608, I attend sporting events to be entertained. Most recently, that means football games that force me to fight off my demons and be in attendance with 25k+. My Alma mater's baseball, soccer, and basketball teams do not entertain me. Entertain me, and you keep your job. Boone doesn't boast many jobs, so I'd say it's fair to be picky. Entertain me.

Re: @ A&T
I think it's funny many preaching they want results from Kermit aren't expecting the same from Fox.
Roster wise baseball was in worse shape. 5 guys got drafted and 2 others left that were contributors. You dont replace that in baseball over night.
Off the field/court Fox has the advantage but on court it's no contest.
