Big early season series. Tied 1-1 in the bottom of the 5th, Nunn is throwing another gem. Only run scored on an error.
I have never done this before but I'm seriously considering asking for my money back for the Furman stream. It costs $8 (60% more than the price of a ticket which is $5), no announcers and one cock-eyed camera behind the net where you see people walking by periodically and never see a ball if it leaves the infield. It was awful to begin with, now it has cut out and I have not seen anything since the 4th inning.

Apps trail 2-1 after a walk, stolen base and a double.

GET EM' MIKE!!!!
Big game...I would love to see us get this first game. My internet keeps going out so I might lose the game but I'll keep up on the radio. Let's hope we can pull this one out and take the series.

Good news, the stream came back. Bad news, it came back just in time to watch Furman put up 2 in the 6th.
3-1 Furman, heading to the 7th.

Got out of a BIG jam in the 7th. Furman loaded the bases with 1 out for Alex Johnson, their 3-hole hitter and Nunn got a double play to end the threat.
Heading to the 8th down 3-1, we need to put something up here with Crespo and the top of the order coming up.

Still 3-1 in the 8th. Looks like Furman is a serious contender for SoCon title contention. Could tag Nunn with his first loss of the season. Have out hit us 7-6 at this point.

Jaylin Davis to the plate. 2 outs, bases juiced. Furman's having a conference on the mound.

Pitching change. Furman brings in Ben Carlson, a right hander to face Jaylin.

Catches him looking on the outside corner for the strikeout.

i'm sorry, but when i played as a kid i was taught to protect the plate with 2 strikes. no sense looking when you have 2 strikes, 2 outs and the bases juiced

I'm asking for a refund.

Ugh. Must have been right on the very corner. Only thing, two runs down, a walk would've only gotten us halfway there.

Crespo strikes out on a very similar pitch to end the game with runners at the corners. It was a full count, he was heading to first base and got rung up. Both generous calls and both were nasty pitches but you need to swing the bat and not risk it in that situation.

True. Very true. Hopefully those pitches were called strikes in the fourth inning.

Well, need to rebound tomorrow and Sunday. Furman may be for real.

No question. That is a really good baseball team.

Stranded bases loaded twice and 2 in the 9th. Another costly 2 out error by a Sr. allows their first run. Nunn pitched great through 5. Dobson not DH'ing and then comes in the 9th and gets a hit. Got beat by small ball. Davis is very young (chased hook balls in the dirt last weekend until Sunday)
We haven't gone long in a while either.

That is still taught. Just a little harder to do when the ball is 90 mph. No excuse, I'm sure he was pissed. Bad execution in a key situation. He is young.

Everyone keep in mind 13 guys are gone from last year. We brought in great talent, and have great talent left. But the SoCon is a beast, and you can't coach or replace experience. They will continue to learn and develop as the season goes along. Just don't expect it to be quite as smooth as last season. Come on boys, gotta win tomorrow
