GoASU twitter threw out a crazy stat for Zumbrook yesterday that 9 of his 10 hits this year have been a double or more

Zumbrook has to be one of the nation's leaders in doubles so far. He pounds the wall.

Edit: 2-run double from Zumbrook! 6-2 Apps.
"Blow it open" seems to be the route they've chosen! 7-2, 1 out. Troutman at bat. Zumbrook on 3rd, Crespo on 2nd. Pitching change for UGA

Apps put up 5 in the 6th! Great inning. Now we gotta keep from giving another one away.

Apps have given the pitching a good cushion to work with, although I don't want that cushion to be shrunk

8-2 Apps going to bottom of the 6th!

edit: just noticed the Lids banner to the right. i find it funny that they still sell the old school App baseball hats with the intertwined "AS" on the front

Two walks to start the bottom of the 6th. Come on boys. Have to throw strikes with a 6-run lead.

Thurber in for Tate and doing what you're supposed to with a lead, throwing strikes.

Both the walks have come around to score but not by any fault of Thurber. Grounder to short that was just too slow to turn the double play, perfectly placed bunt single and a flair to right to drive in 2. Gets a strikeout to end the threat.

8-4 Apps after 6.

Thurber has really stabilized this game. Limited the damage in the 6th, got 'em 1-2-3 in the 7th. Still 8-4 good guys.

Another great performance by Thurber. Pitches around Calloway's second error of the day and gets a 6-4-3 double play to end it. 8-5 Apps, final!

No shame in splitting a pair in Athens, time to take it back to Boone!

Good win for the Apps. Thurber needed this too (after getting robbed in Davidson). He's old school....talks to the ball! Fun to watch.

Callaway is now averaging an error every other game. If this team can solve its fielding problems, they will be even more of a threat in the SoCon.

For a Sr. Pre-Season All everything, it's "don't look away" on every throw. Needs to stop if we're going to have chance.

Wonder if the ball's name is Wilson?
