Can you imagine how good guys like Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig could have been had they worked out like the guys today?

Maybe - maybe not --- those guys played every day and the pitchers pitched every 4th day (or sooner) and pitched complete games - I'm not sure todays baseball players aren't in the situation where they are "wound too tight" - way too many injuries - none-contact injuries, pulled muscles - on and on ---

In the mean time, if we're going to continue being a one trick pony I'm happy it's football!!

Yeah, whether we like it or not, it is all about football. It drives the bus. However, I’m ticked off that Coastal, Marshall, JMwho and now Campbell are ahead of us otherwise.WataugaMan wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 7:46 amIn the mean time, if we're going to continue being a one trick pony I'm happy it's football!!

Do not accept that “this is as good as it gets” defeatist attitude. What a pathetic outlook. Basketball is on the rise. This baseball program was on the rise under Pollard. Took a step back and now seems to be on a rise with Kermit Smith. Keep watching. Keep tweeting about it. Keep showing up to games. If you’ve got the means donate. We had an NCAA tournament team in 2012. Don’t accept mediocrity.

I don't consider us a one trick pony .Basketball is the reigning conference champion , with a high ceiling under Dustin. Baseball seems to be on the rise , as does a few of the Olympic sports.Certainly football is the flagship though and I'm good with that.Campbell and Liberty ( the ACC Champions ) baseball were darn impressive in the tournament, as was South Ally.

Watching the second week of the NCAAs drives home the physical development issue. These are “ the big boys”.
