At last year’s preseason gathering in Winston-Salem, coach Smith was asked if he could change one thing in college baseball, what would it be?
I expected him to say the game needed a fourth full-time coach, or more scholarship money or perhaps wood bats.
His answer? Push back the start of the season. It reduces a ton of obstacles for our program.

I don't know that I'm ready to write Coach Smith off, but I will say I was really disappointed with the UNCW series. I expected us to struggle against ECU and I know UNCW has a good program, but we should have represented better there. Hopefully we can get the wheels back on the cart going into conference play.

Did you get season tickets? If not, where did you choose to sit? The release yesterday about the ticket process this year really stinks IMO.

I don't have season tickets I just logged on the cannonballs at noon and got lucky

I tried to get tickets with no luck. I call the Cannonballers ticket office and they said UNCC & Cannonballers season ticket holders got first priority and then they only had about 200 to sell after that. He said tat they sold out in less than 2 minutes at noon. Probably will see some on dang StubHub.

I snagged two, as well. If any of you haven't seen it already, the city of Kannapolis has really done a great job with the stadium and the surrounding area. I'd highly recommend getting there a bit early and grabbing some food and/or a beer at the brewery outside the stadium. Or just take a walk if it's a nice day. Great little area.

App beats NC A&T yesterday 14-5, it was the fifth meeting between the two teams this season, App winning 4 out of 5. Now that we know we're a better team than A&T, it's time to move on to bigger and better things. There are more important fish to fry, starting with the upcoming Arky State Series. There's a lot of season left as conference play starts.

This weekend’s series is very important. Our first Sun Belt series, at home, against a very beatable opponent. Get off to a good start boys!

Game 2 first pitch is 2pm. You’ll be able to watch it on ESPN+
I love ESPN+ and all the additional access we have there. I do wish that platform learned your tendencies a little more and gave you a “preferences” section. Pain in the butt to navigate sometimes.
