I'll be heading down to Greensboro for tomorrow's 2pm game. I'm hoping to see a good crowd of APPs there then as well.

Re: App State @ UNCG
Wish I was there. The kids whined and moaned about going until I couldn't take it. It's boring, too much pollen, blah, blah, blah. So I guess this video beats nothing.
Sounds like a good App crowd.

Just got home from game... Nunn pitched a gem. 15 hits, the bats were alive. Great defense--- 0 errors. More App fans than UNCG. GREAT weather!

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Appalachian State scored four early runs Friday night and made them stand, downing the UNCG baseball team 9-1 in a Southern Conference contest inside the UNCG Baseball Stadium. The Spartans fall to 16-18 overall and 4-9 in league play with the loss while the Mountaineers improve to 19-10 and 9-6.
Senior outfielder Christian Wolfe extended his hitting streak to 11 games with a base knock in his fourth and final at bat of the evening, driving in classmate and infielder TJ Spina to break up the shutout in the eighth inning. Sophomore RHP Max Povse took the loss for the Spartans, throwing six innings and giving up five runs (four earned). He allowed eight hits while also striking out four batters.
Jamie Nunn threw 7.2 innings for Appalachian State and picked up his seventh victory of the campaign by allowing just one earned run.
Hector Crespo laced a leadoff triple to left center to begin the contest and would score on a RBI single by Jaylin Davis to put the Mountaineers on top 1-0 after one complete inning. ASU added to its lead in the second when Gabe Dimock led off with a double and crossed home on a RBI single by Preston Troutman.
The big blow came in the top of the third when Dillon Dobson reached on a UNCG error at third with no outs before Will Callaway drove a pitch deep over the left center field fence to make the score 4-0.
The Spartans kept the Mountaineers off the board until the seventh when Davis led off with a double and Callaway added his third RBI of the evening with a single which scored Davis. Dimock grounded out to short with one away, but a throwing error by first baseman and senior Trevor Edwards allowed him to cross home safely and stretch the visitors' lead to 6-0.
In the bottom of the eighth, Spina singled to center with one out before classmate and designated hitter Lloyd Enzor drew a walk. Redshirt freshman infielder Nin Marrero proceeded to groundout, advancing the runners, before Wolfe came through with a sharp single through the right side which plated Spina from third.
Appalachian State would score three runs in the top of the ninth on five hits to salt the game away.
The Spartans and Mountaineers will play game two of their league series Saturday at 2 p.m.

Re: App State @ UNCG
Great all-around performance, I think we'd have beaten any team in the conference yesterday.
That blown save last Sunday still digs at me a little. We'd be a half game off the lead and in position to end the weekend in first had we hung on.

We have blown another 4-0 lead . Now tied in the 5th. Getting out hit again today. We seem to play better against the top half of the SoCon than the bottom half.

Re: App State @ UNCG
good relief inning for Marcello. 1-2-3
I think he may be better suited for a middle relief role. Not as much pressure to get his adrenaline pumping too much. and throw him off
