In what (if I understand correctly) is the last regular season games for us in the SoCon ever; could use a series sweep.

We will still be in the SoCon next spring so we have a lot of SoCon games left. We don't go to the Sun Belt until July 1st. 2014.

Yep we can win every sports championship and the overall sports cups next year with the exception of football.

Our baseball team should be able to contend for the title next year.

Cats are looking for 40 plus wins to get an at-large in case they don't win the tourney. Big weekend to spoil their season.

Huge series. Much more important to App for a couple reasons.

First, it is Western. The football series is completely one-sided, we hold a healthy advantage is basketball but not so on the diamond. WCU leads the all time series 85-57 and even last year when we clearly had the better team, they took 2 of 3 in Cullowhee.

Also, we are currently 5th place in the SoCon, in between Charleston and GSU in standings who play each other this weekend. 1/2 game up on GSU with the tiebreaker, 2 games behind Charleston with a season split. Also just 1 game up on Furman, who has the head to head and 2 games up on Samford (split) who gets Davidson this weekend. We match up pretty well with Charleston but if we slip to 6, we likely get The Citadel. App needs this series for seeding in the tournament.

There are also a couple of somewhat meaningful streaks on the line: 6 straight 30-win seasons, 6 straight seasons of .500 or better in SoCon play. With a 12-12 SoCon mark and 27 wins, both streaks are in jeopardy.

BEAT. WESTERN.

Just a reminder. We aren't and will not be any different than Western in all sports except Football. Personally I hope we keep playing them in sports other than football.

Western is absolutely on fire. Could be a long weekend boys.

Making progress, only gave up 2 in the second. 8-0 Western. They are a really good offensive team but Nunn picked a bad day to throw BP, not fooling anyone. All of their outs have been smoked as well.

I know this isn't the nicest, most sportsmanlike thing to say, but if another Western batter tries to lay down a bunt when they are up this much...put one in his earhole. that is the only way they will stop doing that
