What was Burris thinking trying to come home???
Jackson with a walkoff homer for the Dawgs.

When will "It's better than what we had" no longer be good enough for App State?

Re: App vs Citadel
Unreal. 9th inning rally, walk-off in the bottom half. Sounds familiar.
Awful base running and too many walks. 4 of their 6 runners who scored reached base via walk or HBP. Picked off of first twice, then a bonehead decision to send Burris who was out by about 10 feet.

I can't help but think that Chris Pollard would have won this game.asumike83 wrote:Unreal. 9th inning rally, walk-off in the bottom half. Sounds familiar.

I think Billy Jones knows the game well but he is a rookie head coach. Just have to hope that he learns and gets better with the young players.

Re: App vs Citadel
i don't know as much as we would like to say he would have, we had lots and lots of dumb mistakes last year as well. We also had a problem with hit batters last year (haven't fixed that) We got away with it last year behind the arms of Grant and Arrowood. We also had a lot of help with Daniel jacking homeruns throughout the year. Also i remember our bullpen sucking last year and they were not that much better this year. We lost a ton of people last season, this season has gone as expected.Gonzo wrote:I can't help but think that Chris Pollard would have won this game.asumike83 wrote:Unreal. 9th inning rally, walk-off in the bottom half. Re: App vs Citadel
We have a completely new weekend rotation, 5 new starters in the field, a new DH, plus a good bit of turnover in the pen. There is no way to know what Pollard may or may not have done with this squad. Jones made some mistakes this year, but that is to be expected for a first year guy.Gonzo wrote:I can't help but think that Chris Pollard would have won this game.asumike83 wrote:Unreal. 9th inning rally, walk-off in the bottom half. Re: App vs Citadel
I agree with you. It's a completely different team. Unfair comparison and expectations drawn from the success last year. We had a perfect storm of guys last year, and we lost the most important ones. Pollard didn't have to do anything last year except let the horses runJTApps1 wrote:We have a completely new weekend rotation, 5 new starters in the field, a new DH, plus a good bit of turnover in the pen. Re: App vs Citadel
So we will get at least 1 more shot at these guys! Should have had them last time. I feel like we're going to pull through now. I'm curious to see who will start. Springs should be fresh and then if we win, would Nunn be able to go in the game to get us into the championship? Marcello should also be fresh and could start in a must need situation

Re: App vs Citadel
Springs seriously needs to be cut after this season. provides no help to the team whatsoever
Gives up a leadoff HR and then lets the bases get loaded and walks 2 runs home. only lasted 2/3 of an inning and Thurber gets the last on 1 pitch
