That seems to be the wild card for the past 2 years.

We need Brooks back soon, which will help immensely out of the pen. I don’t know if Xeureb will be able to go but the bats look good anyway. No clue what happened to Moronta. A little thin due to injuries right now. Down 2 starters with injury at the moment, and maybe Moronta?

I'm gonna take my own advice and just wait till the non-conf. schedule is done before making judgments. BUT can't ignore the amount of BB so far regardless if it's only from a few pitchers so far. 30 including 6 today in 5 games. Hitting looks like it will keep them in most games but need to find at least 6 reliable pitchers. Interested to see Steensma throw tomorrow. Feels like he's better suited in the BP.

Agree on Steensma. He was sitting 94-95 as a closer… now 90-91 as a starter, which is fine, but I think he’s there because we lack the starting arms. It’s early, he could ramp up soon with velo as he gets extended as a starter. But, it’s not a good sign when 2 bullpen/closer guys are the starters next year.

Great all around win. Everyone stepped up at the plate and the arms settled down after the grand slam. Walks are still an issue, but we aren’t giving up many hits which is good. Time will tell, just keep fighting on the mound.

Excellent bounce back day for Steensma! Not so worried about him if he can get some stamina he will be fine. Score some more runs and let’s close this one out!
