If we don’t rally and pull this one out we should fire the staff. Rescind all scholarships and burn the stadium down.
Or just move the team to Hickory.
Oh man… It would been way funnier if it was either me or space monkey that said this. Kudos to the pot stir
I’m still laughing hahahaha! That was epic.

That one could have gone the other way and we would have been severely defeated. Really needed that W heading into Troy. Deep breath and regroup. Excellent comeback after a horrid T9th. Way to battle guys.

JMU is 23rd in RPI...winning 1 of those would have helped us. 0-3 in Quad 1 that weekend, now 2-5 in Q1. Had a chance, need to make them back up elsewhere against a good team. We avoid Southern Miss and LaLa this year so finishing slate not as difficult.

Focus on Troy and let's win a dang series. Anyone heard on Steensma?

JMU played Arkansas and took a game. I don’t see them as a top 25 team. We blew two games this past weekend that we could have taken. We are a mid to lower standing Sunbelt team for whatever reasons. My opinion.

We are playing in the 4th best conference in baseball with one hand tied behind our back. Call it “loser’s mentality” if you must but we have a lot of real life obstacles that we have to deal with that other schools in our conference and region that don’t.

I agree with everything here. We let 2 get away from us at JMU. Their ranking is inflated because they played a major P5 for a series, something we didn't do, so now we have to win a lot more to make up those missed opportunities.

This weekend will be pretty telling, it's looking more like we have to win the SBC to play postseason ball but if we play well this weekend maybe an at large is still on the table.

Silver Lining- global warming. In 50 years, Boone NC will be a great baseball/football climate while others are melting. We're in it for the long run! ;)

Correct. When I was in undergrad at U-Dub, there were days the baseball team out on the field I Nov-Feb. You can play year round outside in some capacity down the mountain.

For this year in particular, maybe I am a homer. I feel like if we had one decent left handed starting pitcher, one more decent right handed starting pitcher (besides 33) and one decent left handed reliever...we would be closer to top of conference with our offense. I am not talking aces..jist enough to get us to 5 or 6 innings..Would it be enough to win s c tournament? Probably not as too many pitchers needed for SBC tournament. But we would hold our own.

We're pretty much same as last year minus a Xander and a solid lefty pitcher. Skylar Brooks being hurt has crushed us with the pen. Brooks and Lewis would have been serious in the back of the pen.

Is 15-15 in Sun Belt play a reasonable goal? Were 5-7 right now and would likely need a sweep to reverse the JMU sweep.

Not to mention Caleb Cross.
When will "It's better than what we had" no longer be good enough for App State?

That's reasonable. Win your midweeks and play .500 ball in conference and you're above 30 wins.

Wouldn’t be surprised for a DH Saturday and 1 Sunday. Tomorrow looks like football weather.

Noticed that the Saturday 4/13 starting pitcher was listed as TBA. Hope the Stensma injury is not long term.
