Socon baseball

Unread post by Blackandgold » Sat Feb 15, 2014 6:30 pm

Has to be the highest level of play by any of the sports in the socon. Teams from socon consistently beat ranked teams. Citadel beat #14 Louisville today. Western beat #4 Mississippi state yesterday. CofC (not socon anymore) beat unc today.

Pretty dang impressive. It happens every year too. Very high level of play in socon baseball

SoCon baseball is very strong, but th Sun Belt is historically stronger. With the SoCon losing GSU, CofC, Elon, and us that gap just got bigger.

I also forgot. Ga southern beat Uga (although Uga isn't very good, it's still an sec team).

Don't you think beating acc and sec teams is more impressive than beating Illinois, creighton and michigan?

I think you play the teams on your schedule, it is week one. Go back and look at conference RPI the last five years. Now subtract four of the top six teams from the SoCon over that time.

The Sun Belt may not be for everyone, but the numbers will prove it is a step up in all three major sports and even more so when you consider what the SoCon is losing.

Just commenting on the consistent victories over acc and sec by socon teams.

I initially mentioned nothing about socon vs sunbelt. I said BASEBALL is socon's strongest sport.

I will reserve my opinion on move to sunbelt until a couple years after the move. I simply just don't know how it will work out, and neither do you. Too many unknowns.
