Baseball vs Davidson
So. RHP Brian Bauk will get the ball first on Friday evening. Bauk pitched all of two shutout innings in 2014 in two appearances. Oddly enough, Bauk did pitch an inning last year against Davidson.
The Wildcats were picked to finish 7th out of 13 teams in the preseason A-10 poll.

A tweet mentions that it wil be Springs instead who gets the start after all. Bauk was mentioned in preview article as likely starter, but Billy Jones does things his own way.

I didn't taken it that way. No worries. Just Billy being Billy!AppState wrote:Wasn't correcting you. Just happened to see it on twitter.

Had runner in scoring position; got caught sleeping at 2nd in a pick-off play; side retired.

Pierson doubles to right to score two, Apps up 3-0 through 4. Davidson changing pitchers.
Re: Baseball vs Davidson
Matt Brill came in relief of Springs for the 5th who had a good outing tonight. 5IP, 3K, 3H. Brill breezes through bottom 6th. On to the last 3 innings.

Another late inning collapse. Davidson has tied it up with 3 in the bottom of the 8th.

Re: Baseball vs Davidson
Similar bullpen questions to last year. Why use these young guys in the 8th when you should go to your experienced setup man in Thurber and then hopefully Whaley in the 9th. Instead, at best, it will be tied at the end of 8.

Re: Baseball vs Davidson
CAA or A10, like you said, either way you call it, not a good way to start. Anyway, if memory serves me correctly we had a problem finishing games last season too.hapapp wrote:Actually A10 but I get your point.WataugaMan wrote:Just gave it away, against the pre-season #7 CAA team, not a good start, not good at all!!
