I was worried that we would simply foul a shooter 30' from the basket at the end not allow a shot. Could not believe that we are winless against Wake in hoops.

The ball was there to be caught. Catch it and we win. Reality is that one play or one call ,at any other point in the game goes our way and the outcome is likely different. We don't have ACC talent , we don't have ACC money. Coaches are doing a heck of a job developing what we do have , competing with that and putting us in a position to win.

Win the games you’re supposed to win.

Campbell
Kennesaw State
Wake

It’s early, this team is fun, but if we want to pack holmes, these are the games you have to win. So proud of the boys, they ALL played great! True mountaineer effort tonight!

How do our coaches not think of that?

I've never coached (beyond boys church league) and really know nothing but if teams rely on analytics so much my personal analysis tells me that with a lead and 2.3 seconds left throw the ball down court at someone and once it's touched game over. I know I've seen the same situation before and many times it's a bad pass under the basket that either backfires or nearly does. I'm assuming that coaches fear that a long pass doesn't get touched and the other team gets it back under the basket. Hell just bounce it off the floor or something. Our guy panicked in the big moment and was hoping the Wake guy touched the ball.

The hurt on our players faces at the end of the game was real. They played their butts off.

This is the deepest team since the Apke days.

That’s what makes it so painful. A literal 7 year old could have called a better inbound and even executed it better.

Guess what, our team played well. Just came up short, when Carr made a game winning shot at the buzzer. Nuff said for tonight. Merry Christmas All.

We are very deep. Didn’t even play eads or pearson tonight and they are good role guys. And we have a stud freshman sitting on the bench that can’t even get minutes.

I thought the football threads were bad about coach bashing, but I think basketball takes the cake. I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again, some of y’all need to get a firmer grip on reality.

Buddy, a rec league coach would have won that game. Ball in hands, with 2 seconds left. You can’t lose. You just can’t.

It needed to be said during the timeout, throw the ball deep, tip it, we win.

You’re right. When I attended App, no one talked about basketball. There’s at least some buy in from the student body now, and I attribute that a lot to Kerns. People need to give the guy a chance.

I am still disappointed in the loss and game management leading up to it, but we move on.

Shit like tonight is how you lose student buy in. You can’t keep choking away games and expect people to enjoy the product.

We had that one. Such a bad way to lose but this is an awesome team and a great coach.

I think JMU and App are meeting in the championship ship game for a chance at the NCAA dance.

This bunch of players are easy to pull for. They want it bad.

TV Teddy's crew was in midseason form tonight, awful one sided officiating for the majority of the second, yet it was ours to lose and we did it.

I just got home from Winston, App fans showed out tonight, just gutted that App didn't walk out of there with a win.

Kerns said in post game, the inbounds was designed to go long.
