Because the SEC and Big 10 threatened to create their own postseason tournament for only P5 teams who missed out on the NCAA. Fox immediately jumped in and promised to be the TV partner, and this was the NCAA's agreement to stop it. SEC schools simply didn't want to have to play non P5's in the NIT.RaleighApp27609 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 1:05 pmAny idea why the conference regular season champion no longer receives an auto bid into the NIT if they don't win the conference tournament?appgrad95&97 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 12:58 pmA win today would go a long way towards an NIT opportunity. A State playing excellent defense. Sagging off X and playing 5 on 4. Both teams playing good defense right now.

Too many subs already. Mantis should never be guarding Fields.

Very early but we look a little too relaxed for my liking

It is early, but seeing Mantis and X over Marsh is interesting.

Yeah they’re hunting Mantis down on defense. He simply does not have a spot in the rotation for this one

Yet we keep him on the floor. They aren’t even guarding X on offense, he’s no threat outside 4’diehardapp18 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 5:28 pmYeah they’re hunting Mantis down on defense. He simply does not have a spot in the rotation for this one

Our defense has been less than stellar the last couple of days. We better be at our best offensively to we will get embarrassed.

This exactly. I don't think ArkSt can keep up their shooting, but Kerns doesn't need to eff around and find out. Light a fire under their ass

Not a game to play 9 guys. Play with the best 7 you got.appstatealum wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 5:33 pmThis exactly. I don't think ArkSt can keep up their shooting, but Kerns doesn't need to eff around and find out. Light a fire under their ass

Refs are letting them be so physical defensively and I hate we’re not matching it

They’re switching every guard handoff.
Going to have to let Marsh pick and roll and get to the rim. Let him loose.

They’re getting superior looks and even when they miss they’re either getting the offensive board or it’s bouncing off our foot or something. Not a recipe for success

Pretty much the same thing as 2nd half yesterday. Might be time for Huntley/Spillers down low. Huntley is long enough to get some of these loose ones.diehardapp18 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 5:42 pmThey’re getting superior looks and even when they miss they’re either getting the offensive board or it’s bouncing off our foot or something. This is a terrible half. Very slow on defense. Offense is nonexistent. IF we get a shot off, it’s been a bad shot and one and done.
