My money would be on Troy and whoever wins the Arky St vs S Aly game. Think it will be between JMU us and Arky St/S Aly loser giving us the nod for the 3rd seed. I don’t think we’ll fall below a 5 seed unless we just crap the bed.

Kerns has done a fantastic job considering the circumstances.

Unfortunately, this team just doesn’t look good enough to win the conference tournament. I think they’re capable of beating any team in the conference on any given night, but they’re just too inconsistent.

Overall, better season than I expected. Let’s hope they can get hot soon.

Go App!
With the three point line it just depends on who is hot from the three point line in the tournament. It could be us and no one is beating us.

Yah I agree if our defense plays well (which it has nearly the entire season) and a couple of our guards get hot App will be really difficult to beat. I do think four games is a really tall order though. World of difference between the Top #4 seeds and everyone else. Hope the team closes it out strong!

This team just has not taken advantage of the opportunities it has had. Every time we had a big game seems like we lost.

I beg to differ. For instance, the win at JMU in Harrisonburg is a feather in our caps, and we have an outright tiebreaker with the sweep, should it come to that. Have we taken advantage of every opportunity? No. I'll grant you that. That loss at Louisiana stings, and might wind up costing us a top-four seed. However, considering what we lost last year, the staff, Huntley, and Tate have put together a pretty good team that will have a chance in a few weeks. If we go 3-1 over the final two weeks, we put ourselves in a good spot for that fourth-seed.

I put LaLa loss on the fact the collective new members were trying to figure out how to be a team . Much different team today

As I’ve stated LaLa on the road , although they have shown the ability to upset folks , but then ODU at home. Both water under the bridge. We have a good team. The JMU games as well as Ohio have been highlights for me. Are we getting return on investment? I believe so but we need to finish strong and make a run in Pepsicola.

UL shot uncharacteristically well that game. Also, it was pre Beaubrun/Wilson emergence. They had a combined 18 minutes while Marcus had 19 minutes. Think Threadgill was still starting, too.

If a team shoots 40percent from 3 it is tough to beat them, even if you are the better team.

Arkansas St dropped another. A top four seed still very much in play if App wins out, but a top two would need decent luck with South Alabam & JMU each dropping a game. There are actually not inconcievable scenarios where App actually wins outright (the JMU tiebreaker is huge).

Ultimately if the team wins out the rest will sort out. Gotta get it done tonight....

LaLa and UNCW games were not that far apart on schedule. We did not defend the 3 well at that point in season. UNCW actually missed several but were open. We are doing a decent job defending the 3 compared to earlier in the season.

I’d say so. We currently sit at #4 in the country in 3 point percentage defense. I think we were #2 for a while.
