Kerns took a program that didn't have a winning season in a freaking decade ..and has built a winning program. I don't get the absurd takes on this coach by some members here. He has not had a losing season

Nothing I said was untrue. He has provided stability and has kept us above .500. And, yes he deserves a ton of credit for turning around a woeful program that he inherited. But, we have not been good in the post season. In fact, his teams have had a tendency to tail off in February. I'm not unhappy that he is at the helm but his time here hasn't been extraordinary. He has shown he can produce a real quality team as witnessed last year but again, the postseason was a disappointment.

I wouldn't dispute that, though 16-16 is not a winning season. I go all the way back to Bob Light, so I would rank Cremins as the best coach in my fandom. Again, I'm not trying to ignite any "Fire Kerns" movement but there do seem to be some common deficiencies in his teams.

The complete lack of any sort of offensive gameplan at the end of games is a much bigger concern. Kerns standing around and hoping Tate can win a bunch of one on ones is not a winning formula.

If you do not have good players, it doesn't matter what the coach does. Without Huntley or Tate, we are bottom of the SBC...and maybe vice versa to some degree...
IMO, we were a strong and quick point guard that could finish around the rim from winning the SBC...and I am not referring to a particular player no longer with program...just a general statement ...It would move Tate to the 2 position and changes dynamic on offense and better D on perimeter..
I may be wrong, however, Kerns style of play does appear attractive to portal players that want to play sn up tempo offense However, I am a Kerns fan overall.
As a couch potato coach, my larger issue last night was that there were several to many possessions that 2 appeared to be guarding their 4 (best shooter) and he shot over him on various occasions. I would have liked to see a better D person on 4. He had scored like 23 the night before.

I agree. Marsh would have made a difference. Harcum would also have made a difference. If we had been able to keep one more of the transfers, it would have been a different season. I'm proud of the leadership that both Huntley and Tate showed this year.

Unfortunately, it's now almost a total rebuild again for next season. Hopefully, Kearns can get a young core that wants to play together.

Back to end of game situations. In the last minute. St. John’s tied up with the ball and a timeout with about :15 to go. What do they do? Throw it into “their guy” and he kills 8 secs. holding the ball at the top of the key and takes a dribble, fires up a 30 footer). This is what the great Pitino drew up? Must have been. He did fire the brick up in time for his teammate to get the rebound and lay ot in at the buzzer. Shame on Marquette for not boxing out.

With two weeks remaining we were in the mix for #1. The last 6 games stunk, but after almost a completely new roster, I’m happy that we were good enough to get me excited this year. We have some good pieces returning next season (hopefully) and some promising freshmen. If we can pull in 2-3 solid transfers, we should be pretty good next year. Kearns has shown he can find transfer talent, so I’m confident he will again.

WBB ends the season on an 8 game losing streak and MBB ends on a four game losing streak. We’ve not had a lot of success in the tourney (3-6) outside of ‘21.

Great job DG --- hiring NOT 1 But 2 coaches from a place called Presbyterian -- it's all on Doug, when baseball stinks and softball always stinks and then when Charlotte beats the brakes off our Football team in game 1 you all will finally maybe wake up and see through the cloudy BS.
