We may miss 12 more than 15 from last year in some respects. I did not see anyone tonight that could take someone off the dribble and hit the mid-range jumper tonight and against basically a high school all star team.
One bright spot was 44 hitting the one 3. He shot it with confidence.
Not sure if plan overall or just given the talent disparity tonight, the team made concerted effort to push ball up the floor. Could also be due to Kerns is playing more guys. That could change if he narrows down rotation as season progresses.
Our bigs had opportunities in firat half ... but guards settled for 3s. As the saying goes, just because your open does not mean you should shoot it (if you are 3 shooting challenged).
Two games in.
The students showed up tonight.

Re: MBB Home Opener
Scrimmage against a team comparable to our walk-ons. What worked last night might not against a decent team.

Re: MBB Home Opener
What worked outside of having the size dominance down low for rebounds and points?
Didn't shoot it well really from anywhere outside of the paint until O'Kelly and Njock hit free throws late.
Didn't get back on D sometimes.
We did move the ball well. Passes looked crisp and sharp. For the most part we hit our layups (uncontested and contested).
