The sign features a picture of the UNCC coach and his horrible hair line (which is emphasized by the fact that he grows it out for some reason). "Pull up to the scene with my ceiling missing" is a line of a popular rap song. In the song it refers to a convertible car, but is a play on his hairline in this context.

I actually LOL'ed at the sign. Major's hairline is a total joke. We all joke about it and when we play on national tv it's all over twitter. Wish I had been able to make it to the game, family in Boone advised we not try it with the ice expected. With a 2 year old opted to listen to them. As for the game - first 12 or so minutes were typical 49er in Boone minutes. Finally settled in and took advantage of size. That was great for this game - but if we try that against FSU we will get smoked. One thing about your team is they didn't quit, so there is that. I am still shocked that you can't get more people than that to a game, I know the program is in a bad spot and all, but the crowd was pathetic. At least you got $30 from me though.

As for shooting a 3 - we arent a great 3 shooting team. A way less classy thing would have been to dump it into the post. Still though it wasn't like we were up by 40 pouring it on and a sign of how competitive in spirit the two teams are App didn't dribble the clock out either.

Its true! Most of us have learned to just embrace it in a #fearthehairline kind of way! :P There was talk that if we won the PRTO Tourny he would shave it, but guess he hasn't found his razor yet.

Gonzo, I'd love to see an official report or mention of this other than your friends who are carrying signs to the game looking to start something. (Not that I have a problem with that, I did it in my time too.) I'm sure it's possible that he could have walked over and said something, maybe been asked by someone to return to the bench. I just find it extremely hard to believe that any of our coaches would have actually gotten to a position where security "forcefully" had to remove them. I would assume an official would have issued a "T" long before that point. Sounds like your derogatory sign toting friends may have a slight bias opinion of what happened, possibly even embellished the events for the sake of a good story. Again, nothing wrong with that either as fans, just don't use false information to help spread your anti-"unc-concrete" agenda.

Anyway, here's to a better rest of the season for App MBB. Especially against STDavidson! Is there any talk or rumor of Capel being fired or at least on the hot seat this year?

Why can't all 49ers fans be like this one? at least he actually got that the sign is a joke and making fun of something that everyone makes fun of.

i'm convinced Majors does it intentionally just to get attention

It happened after the game was over that is why there was no "T".

Put the trash-talk away big, bold, brash, and *anonymous* ninerfan. This is a family forum. And rest assured that our Chancellor and AD will expect an apology from UNCC and discipline of your basketball staffer; or you can kiss a football series with us goodbye for the foreseeable future. We realize he's probably the low man on your totempole; but that's no excuse. He has a funny way of showing the winning team's sportsmanship.

You guys certainly better stay away from Duke if our students get under your skin so easily.

I had friends of all ages at the game, some of whom are in their 30's and might just be the most reputable posters on the MMB. They all corroborate what happened exactly as I described it. Take it for what you will.

Good game. I respect your players and the small handful of fans that show decorum from time to time.

For the record, I would not want Stephen Doughton to remain with the program if the the positions had been reversed. For anyone to have reacted like that, let alone someone acting in the course of their job, is absurd. The guy is deranged. Glad a few of you can see the humor in a pretty clever sign if you ask me.

Is there any talk or rumor of Capel being fired or at least on the hot seat this year?

Capel is in the last year of his contract and to date has amassed only two wins at home to DII teams. And he didn't deserve the last win. DII (North Greenville) outplayed his team and NGU's coach outfoxed him all over the court. We won that game only because Mike Neal got a hot hand in the last three minutes.

No one see's any way he can save his job from the grim reaper at this late date. It was an ill-advised experiment with a greenhorn Carolina grad (with decent basketball genes) that never took with our fans or recruits. This season already seems 5 years in length--and we're barely to first semester exam week. Add the fact that Capel has completely crashed our BB APR into a foggy mountain top; and his best player is academically ineligible at least until the semester's end and may never play another game here for disciplinary reasons even if his GPA comes along...and I'm certain you get the drift...

BTW, you guys are suddenly loaded with talent and size. We wish you well until we meet again!

Our crowd was awful (four straight years of losing and no D1 wins will do that), but you guys certainly didn't take over the arena like some of your guys said you would. There couldn't have been more than thirty Charlotte fans there.
I wish we had your big men. Especially Thorne. I can't see how you guys lost to Davidson with those big boys! Kobani was the only one who was somewhat effective in the post for us (Why isn't he starting?)

The weather kept the majority of NinerNation away. I personally know in addition to my group of 3, another group of 2 and then another group of 6 that opted not to chance coming down the mountain tonight. I had to eat the $30, but rather do that than end up in a ditch somewhere with a wife and 2 year old.

One thing about Major is he has always tried to be classy (except maybe for the hairline). You rarely see him yell at refs and he demands that his players act respectfully too. I imagine that extends to his staff, and if there was any inappropriate behavior by Stephen then I would expect it to be handled within the AD. If it was in fact as bad as you initially said, then I would have no problem with that individual loosing his position and could even see that step being taken. No one wants that kind of behavior from someone representing their university in an official capacity.

Sounds like Capel knows he's on his way out. Just coaching to finish I guess.

Burlington, even with Thorne, it was hard to get into our game without Henry, who really is the leader of this team. Like the other Niner fan said, we looked like a pick-up team without him in there adding his spark.
